Boden - Home Delivery Network anyone else had problems?

Previously all my Boden orders have been delivered by the Royal Mail. Should they miss me, card through the door, I go and pick up at Post Office sorting office. No bother.

HDL missed me on Thursday and left a card. Their deport is (literally) miles away so pick up not an option.

I rescheduled online for Monday. No delivery all day.

I emailed Boden and apparently HDL tried to deliver on Monday when we were in all day. If they are going to use HDL all the time I may as well stop ordering from Boden.

Anyone else have any problems, or am I just unlucky?

Is that when someone comes round with the parcels in their car or with a van? We have the former and I think it depends on her schedule when the parcels arrive, it is the same woman that does Next too. my neighbour ordered things with a specific 2hr delivery time slot and they turned up about 2 days later than they should have.

No, I have seen them out and about HDL seem to be a company with branded vans.

Home Delivery Network are useless. Amazon use them for their free delivery, and I have endless problems with them. I'd complain to Boden and request that your parcels be delivered by Royal Mail.

DH has been on the phone to Boden being forceful and my delivery will be coming tomorrow between 7-9 by Parcelforce. Or so Boden says.

Next time if it says on the summary that they are using HDL I think I'll just cancel the order. I use internet shopping for the convenience. And this has not been convenient.

I am still waiting for a Boden delivery that was sent out by HDN last Friday. Whenever they deliver here they never bother coming down our drive, just throw it behind the hedge and seemingly hope for the best. Bloody annoying.

I always get my package from them as they just throw it over the back gate.

Don't mind to much except when they do it in the pouring rain and it it wet and muddy.

Definitely let Boden know - they should do something about it. When a similar thing happened to my ASOS order, I contacted customer services and the HDN never delivered another package from them to me. I don't know if they now use another company just for my area or if HDN lost the ASOS account altogether, but it solved my issue of missing packages.

Most internet retailers realise that having a reliable delivery company is crucial and will change them accordingly if the do not deliver (pun not intended). And they will probably throw in a discount code for inconveniencing you.

I've never had any problems with HDL and I'm way out in the sticks and at least 2 hours from the depot. In the snowy weather we had last winter the driver walked a good 1/2 mile up our very snowy, icy hill to deliver an Amazon package.

I rarely buy from Boden but if I do I specify Royal Mail only on the delivery page.

I had a horrible experience w HDN. Some oaf who doesn't use doorbells Hmm because he is "strong" and "most people hear his knocking" was incredibly rude to me when I found that he'd attempted to deliver several times when I was in. I asked him to use the bell next time as I obviously hadn't heard him but he was really quite nasty. Boden have apparently ditched him now, ha ha.

I just had my boden parcel shoved behind bench at the front of the house with no note left. And a white company bag left on top of the bench last week! Not happy, both were within plain view and expensive parcels to go missing!

They are rubbish in general. Home delivery THREW dd2's Christmas present over a six foot fence last year. It was nintendo DS. It seemed ok but obviously I couldn't take the risk and returned it. Getting that sorted was a nightmare too.....

I bought a book from Amazon and it arrived with soaking carton and the spine swollen and ripped. I sent it back, with a strong letter of complaint (it was delivered to work so not even able to sit in the rain) and they told me they were happy with HDL and had had no complaints. CHINNY RECKON.

yes boden use hdn quite a bit, my orders are nearly alwasy with them. Luckily the lady is the same lady thats been delivering various online orders to me for years so she knows what hours i work and doesn;t come in those hours as she knows i have no where to leave the parcel now i've moved.
Complain though i have always found boden helpful with complaints and customer service.

i asked Boden specifically to send my orders by Royal mail as the courier who delivered them previously was a creepy pervert! They said that would be no problem and i haven`t been bothered with him since though i have to be careful what companies i order from in case he delivers them[shudder]

I am currently experiencing problems with a Boden delivery via HDN. I had an email to say it was dispatched over a week ago and still has not arrived.

I work from home and so am in all day - no card has been left, I have now made 3 phone calls to Boden and found them to be very dismissive.

I am along standing customer of theirs and never had problems before. I will not be ordering from them again.

Boden if you read this thread -
GO BACK TO ROYAL MAIL!

I had a card left twice. Their website is automated - either book another day for another attempted delivery or to leave it in a safe place. (you're up the creek if you don't have one!)

You cant speak to a person and you cant book a time slot unless you pay them £5 - very annoying if you are in and out all day.
They wont leave it with a neighbour either. Only got my delivery after the nice driver had another delivery in the next street so decided to see if I was in yet.

I had problems too. Used to be delivered by the same HDN guy all the time and he was lovely. So quick that he used to deliver before I got a despatch email. Then he left and it took them a month to find our house (!) to deliver a pair of jeans. I insisted on Royal Mail after that.

I find HDN to be useless too, same situation as the OP - they will just say what day they are coming, and wont give a more precise delivery slot than that, so waiting in for the parcels isnt an option for me, and the depot is miles away.

It means that if I get a card through the door from HDN I phone the company who sold be the things and just cancel the order, because I will never be able to get the parcel.

Just had a surreal HDL-related experience when, instead of the Boden parcel supposed to be on its way to me, I got an Early Learning Centre fairy castle!

Luckily, was able to find number of the mum who'd ordered it in local phone directory, and she drove over to collect in time for her DD's birthday.

Meanwhile, another woman living a few miles from us in the other direction phoned and said she had my Boden boyfriend cardigan and would drop it in on way to the hairdresser's! When last heard, she was still trying to track down her own Boden parcel....

IME Boden uses Royal mail for small parcels and other couriers for boxes. They used to use couriers who also delivered NExt stuff but that seems to have stopped.

parcels by courier seem to be taking longer than RMail.
