I've seen lots of lovely wool coats around. Have been very tempted to buy but i need showerproof with hood for prampushing!

Do you want long, short, colour, budget?

i'd like longish (hip length?), don't mind what colour too much
budget... less than £200
something warm, but stylish.

i'm 32 and i don't want to wear something that is as long as my belly button

We all do (have you never noticed, it is an endless mn quest?), but I compromised a bit, because it seems impossible to get everything in one coat, so I went for warm, and I mean warm and seriously waterproof, because I do a lot of walking and I live in a freezing cold place (NE Scotland).

This is my not quite perfect coat.

I would have another coat for smarter occasions but this is my every day trustworthy coat.

I just bought a Boden Great Cord coat, it's really nice and washable as well. They're not doing one this year though so had to get one from ebay. Still in original packaging though so I was happy, and a (relative) bargain.

for those in striking distance of London, the Boden sample clearance is on today (at Kensington Olympia), and when I was there yesterday they had loads of their old style cord coats £50, and some jacket styles for £30.

Saying that, it was really busy so no idea if they will have run out by now.
