Skinny jeans for people with calves please

I tried on a number of pairs in different sizes and styles in Gap that didn't even make it over my calves, let alone any higher. If I did manage to get them on, the material still 'stuck' around the calf area and so didn't make it far enough up to fasten.
I'm 5'10", size 8-10 on top and 10-12 below and have calves in proportion to my height - no-one would remark that they are chunky but clearly they must be bigger than average.
Any ideas - apart from bootleg jeans.

Maybe try Straight Leg, rather than Skinny jeans. They work for me and you can still wear boots over the top .

New Look do some good ones for £20 nice dark denim. I am on my 3rd pair and get complements when I wear them (I go through the knees of all my jeans!)

Topshop. I'm the same height as you and a 12-14 (14 lower half). Got two pairs of topshop skinnies. Won't lie - they are very snug and at the end of the day feel a bit like my circulation is being cut off! But they look great and are relatively easy to put on.

Straight leg - or mens skinnies.
I can't get my feet through some of the ladies skinnies!

Jeggings... I had this problem today. Wanted some skiiny jeans and I am a 12 on top and 14 bottom but skinny jeans are just too tight for my thighs. If I went up a size they fitted my legs but fell off my hips Angry

So I tried jeggings instead. Not the ones that feel like leggings but the actual half denim ones £8 from my local store 21 but DP do them too and sainsburys :)

I've never been able to fit into skinny jeans (I'm slim but sturdy, and don't get me started on the subject of knee-high boots), but I discovered Boden's on a whim and have been living in them since Christmas.

Heartily recommend them.

(A US brand, J Crew, does skinny jeans in matchstick and toothpick cuts. The mind boggles at how skinny you have to be to fit into those.)

Yeah try Uniqlo straight-legged - I'm about the same size as you (5' 9", size 10-12ish, chunkyish of calf and find skinnies problematic) - and they do the trick. And they're as cheap as all get out!

I always find Karen Millen jeans a really good fit, I have a pair of their straight legged jeans and am ample around the claves and find the fit good and comfortable

Well I have calves that often I can´t zip a boot overBlush.

I´ve got some H&M Super Sqin.

I'm not in the UK so can't comment on where to find some that fit but just wanted to commiserate. I have finally lost all my baby weight and am a size 8 (and 5.7) but can't find any that even vaguely attempt to move past my ample calf. Clearly all the running to get down to my 'happy' weight has destroyed my chances of being 'on trend'.

Second vote for Boden straight legs here. They are close through the thigh but give just a little extra calf room. Top Shop Marthas are also good. Also try La Redoute.

I've got some M&S 'slim cut' that aren't completely skinny, but cling nicely enough to give a skinny look on a person with moderately big calves and pretty hefty thighs. Might be worth a go since they're in the sale?
