becoming a lone parent and studying at the OU what benefits am i entitled to?

hi i could really do with some good advice right now. im in the process of becoming a single parent who isnt working but is currently studying an openings course at the ou . i'm not sure what benefits im entitled to through the benefits office?am i entitled to any of these?
* housing benefits
* income support
* child tax credits
.....not sure what else?

any help would be great!

You should be entitled to child benefit, child tax credits (call them as soon as your circumstances change) and depending on the age of your DC, income support or JSA. You can also claim housing benefit.

Studying doesn't entitle you to anything, it's all dependant on income and age of children. You can work out here what you should get.
