What are we all up to? I'm trying to plan something for the weekend fun for all the kids that can span all the age gaps Shock. All good here, kids all happy (I hope) DH and me doing ok. Just thought it would be nice to use this place for something other than the odd rant Grin.

But if you need to rant feel free. Or if you're feeling pretty super, feel free to share that also Smile

Planning DS2 birthday meal out so that the DSS can make it but they both work different shifts and it is proving impossible so I have given up and had wine instead Wine

TheJingleMumsRush · 27/01/2015 20:52

Well I've learnt you can't please all the people all the time. I'm sure it will work out one way or another, now pass the wine Grin

ESS is doing his homework, YSS is doing keyboard practice, whilst DH and I prepare supper, and we had a great weekend.

Plus the kids DM has asked to changed contact so we see even more of them, DH is thrilled (and I'm happy too, they're good kids).

MuttonCadet · 27/01/2015 20:57

What's your spread of ages Jingle? We might be able to help with suggestions?

TheJingleMumsRush · 27/01/2015 20:58

How often do you have them now? That good news Smile

Have two meals flossy Grin good plan. I'm missing everyone this week dp has been working and I haven't seen him. Ss and sd not back till Tomorrow. Ds had a crappy day at school someone spat in his face I'm so annoyed but no one to mull things over with.

TheJingleMumsRush · 27/01/2015 21:00

The one thing they all like is swimming, so always have that to fall back on if I can't think of anything else

3 to 4 nights a week, various days split across a fortnight (terribly confusing and difficult to plan anything), we've now been asked to have them every weekend plus two specific nights in the week.

It suits everyone, so we're happy to agree, kids DM is at the beginning of a new relationship and wants more time to spend with her DP without introducing the kids too much.

We've GCSEs coming up and I'm all about the education, so it means I can monitor what's being done. Smile

MuttonCadet · 27/01/2015 21:04

2 to 14 is tough to be inclusive, swimming sounds great, have you tried geocaching? (2 year old might have to be carried some of the way).

supermariossister · 27/01/2015 21:04

Glad it's working out for you mutton Smile
Yep, I understand why dp has to work nights for the money and to be here when the children are but sometimes I really miss the adult company to hash out the days happenings and get a different perspective.

TheJingleMumsRush · 27/01/2015 21:06

It's better if it's set, it's more stable for everyone than. As long as things can also be flexible if really needed. We have the kids EOW but DH might go and see them at other times if he or they want. Their mum is also just starting a new relationship, he has kids also

Geocaching?

OP posts:
FlossyMoo · 27/01/2015 21:07

Money is the issue or we would have 2 meals. However I have now decided and both DSS will just have to leave work 30 mins early. It is not a big deal and doable if they want to be there, which they say they do. I mean they are 28 now so big boys really Grin

supermariossister · 27/01/2015 21:09

Sounds good sure they are both looking forward to it

TheJingleMumsRush · 27/01/2015 21:13

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching

Hope that link works, if you have a smartphone you can download an app and search for caches, it's a bit like a treasure hunt. Smile

TheJingleMumsRush · 27/01/2015 21:15

Sounds fun! Thanks for that Smile

Congrats needaholiday

It's our weekend of this weekend where dd's is at his mums, and my 3 go to their dad. Great for dd's, not so great for my 3. Will be great to have a quieter weekend, last weekend was mad- churchyard tidy up, beetle drive, church and a nice long geocaching walk. I plan to study, eat cake and we have a meal out planned.

Tonight- time for a g&t, and to do the online grocery shop.
