Contact Order Advise Please

Good Morning all, I really need some advise again regarding a contact order to which my DH's ExW is still allowing. I have posted a while back on 'legal matters' before but not sure how to link to this page.

So to all you step parents out there your advice/help is very much appreciated.

Right here goes, can an extremely difficult ExW decide "the only way your gonna see your son is through a contact centre!" Can she really decide this or does she have to take my DH to court to change the current contact order and let a judge decide whether a contact centre is the right way to go, or reinstate weekly contact at our home.

This has been going on for several months and my DH is desperate to see his son.

Thanking you in advance for your help

Hey ILMT- What a sad situation. As far as I know, the ExW doesn't have the legal right to ''impose'' contact centre. It has to be decided by a juge. Does your DH have PR ?

I strongly suggest that your DH gets in touch with Families Need Fathers. They can give you great advice and help. You DH can self-represent in court too and can even get the help of a Mackenzie Friend who has experience with family court.

Thank you GAW, yes my DH has PR. We have looked at FNF and found their information helpful. My DH work situation has dramatically changed and we are currently looking into legal aid.

I did'nt think ExW could 'impose' a contact centre without going to court but needed a second opinion to confirm this, thank you so much Smile.
