think I'll have a bottle of something fizzy and a straw - no need for a glass.

BH - it's the best way - saves on the washing up and goes straight to your head!

I believe I have some jumbo bendy-straws left from DSs party that would easily reach the bottom of a bottle.

Woohoo!

Hummmm.......DSD with us this weekend and my second baby is due tomorrow. Think that is enough of an excuse to have a teensy glass of wine tonight?

Report
Petal02 · 15/10/2010 14:50

Tootingbec - I hope all goes well with the delivery of your new baby. Just one question: surely the arrival of a new baby is a good enough reason NOT to have DSD this weekend??? Could she not have stayed with her mother on this occasion?? I know it's not quite the same thing, but on the weekend we moved house, it was an access weekend, and it never entered husband's head to change the arrangements. I do sometimes wonder what sort of event would be considered significant enough to reschedule access ?????? More wine, anyone ???

Can I join you! Although admittedly I do have a blissful 'free' weekend now which I will savour

tootingbec I managed to negotiate not having the DSSs when I was due to have DS, can you not do similar?

Report
Tootingbec · 15/10/2010 15:00

Hello Petal02 - it is only my due date tomorrow - I am not going in for an elective cs or anything so it could be 10 days off for all I know. Anyway, DSD will be shipped off back to her mothers the moment things start to happen.....there is no way I am going to be mooing like a cow in the living room while DSD whines to her father that I am ruining her life because she can't watch the X factor. It's bloody half term anyway so she is going to be hanging about on and off for the next week (same happened when DD1 arrived- coincided with the 'feckin Easter holidays then!).

When is it wine o'clock?

Report
Petal02 · 15/10/2010 15:20

Tooting, I'm really pleased she's going to be 'despatched' as soon as things start happening. Even if we had an earthquake, civil war AND a nuclear holocaust, we'd still have to stick to our access pattern ....

Tootingbec -hope the baby arrives on time and all goes well. I think a small glass is definitely in order.

...now are you sure you don't want DSD there to cut the cord?

Sorry. That was uncalled for and I've just nauseated myself by even suggesting it.

tootingbec - hope all goes well! Your last post really made me laugh!

Babyheave, that is an excellent idea re the bendy straws. I'll be hitting the wine club pretty hard this weekend as DSD is due back - half term was this week where I live so have had a relatively normal week. Back to abnormal on Saturday!
