Have just started using MFP but wondering how best to add home cooked food as opposed to ready made things in their database. Do I really have to input all ingredients or is there another way?

You do have to put in incidents which is a pain but its worth doing. I try and use the bar scanner to input as much as possible

Ingredients not incidents, although the Victoria sponge cake I shovelled in yest could be construed as an incident. Quite a lot of recipes by well known food writers like nigella are already in.

You can add your own recipes but you do have to add all your ingredients. It is a bit time consuming But once you've done it once it saves it. I like it cos I do a lot of stuff in the slow cooker and I have all my recipes saved now

I second the barcode scanner, makes adding ingredients so much easier.
