Does anyone want to join me. Its my third attempt started today.
The first time I got pregnant mid way through. Second time was the start of the year and it was too snowy and cold and I was ill.
So psyched myself up again.
I need some company.
I've started!!! Done 2 so far, tried to do the third today but failed as it was too hot.
Ive a looooooooong way to go til fitness - at least 4 stone overweight, not run since school 25 years ago and they don't make sports bras in my size so I'm wearing 2 normal bras
Stay here Laurie. Well done for starting. The first time even though I didn't finish I did tone up loads so its worth sticking with.
I am going again tomorrow as DH is on holiday this week.
I have runkeeper app on my phone which keeps my geeky side covered.
Me again I am also using the Robert podcasts. Not tried the other ones yet. What about you?
The only app I have is the 5k runner. I'm not going today - again it's too hot. It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow.
When you started before how far into the programme did you get?
I can't mentally imagine doing 3 miles at all!
I got to the 20 minute run and then got pregnant.
I never ever thought I would run for so long but the programme is fab. Try runkeeper it keeps track of you runs. Its fab.
20 minutes is fantastic.
Are you going out today?
Nope went out yesterday so need to rest.
I did week 1 day 2 yesterday. Might do day 3 today as am working tomorrow and do a boot camp type class on Thursdays.
You still going Laurie?
I'm starting today! I seem to have a odd fitness level. I can walk at a good pace for hours on end but as soon as I break into a jog I'm huffing and puffing all over the place.
Bed good luck. I do luck running. I just need to get to the end of the programme..... Its nice to have some company.
Company might make me actually do it!
I'll only be able to get out twice a week when dd is at her dad's but it's better than nothing
I survived, I got drenched but I survived! I think my 'brisk walks' were maybe not as brisk as they should have been but I am just happy that I got out there and did it. I also had to do some of my running up a hill because I live in Glasgow and every 2nd street is a bloody massive hill
I felt great when I came home, really energized. As soon as I got in I made loads of phone calls that I have been putting off for weeks and weeks
I didn't look good though, I caught sight of myself in the mirror and I was beetroot!
Did you get out yet today Halle?
Nope. Did running and pilates yesterday so had a break today. Think I am going to try to work from home on Friday and do it then.
It is great doing the running bit. I never thought I would say those words. But its true.
Ignore the not looking good bit. Do you have some running trainers and a proper sports bra? I think sports direct often have good offers on running gear. Got lots really cheap earlier in the year.
Well done for doing it btw. Maybe we can get some more people to join us. [hopeful emoticon].
Can I join too please? I did week 2 day 1 yesterday. Started well but got caught in a thunderstorm! Did enjoy it though, and am finding it easier each time I go out!
I got to week seven in July but have fallen off the wagon. I love it when I get out but once the kids are in bed I just collapse on the sofa. A friend gets up really early to do it but that seems unlikely to happen as well. Need motivation!
I have had running shoes and a sports bra (not that I need it - beestings!) in my wardrobe for a year and not used them
My legs are starting to get a bit achy now. If they feel better by tomorrow I might try and go out again. That would mean I could squeeze 3 runs into this week. I don't want to push it too hard though so i'll see how I feel.
Hi countingdown
I got caught in really heavy rain today, I think it actually helped because it kept me cool!
Well done for getting to week 7 wips
Maybe if you start again it will all just fall back into place.
I'm in
I did c25k over the winter but had problems with my knee so I haven't run for months. I've been cycling though, so I'm going to introduce some running slowly to see my knee is better. So week one run one was tonight!
It is completely fab, I'm so proud of myself and surprised that I can actually run - I'd recommend it to anyone. Life changing
I managed my 3rd run this morning, it was lovely and cool thankfully. And at the end of my first week a teeny, tiny, bit easier.
Great to see you all starting.
I really want to keep going - can't imagine getting to 5k though, just doesn't seem possible
I would love to join, but I can't start until 5th Sept as I'm on hols till then at a rather fancy hotel, and can't bear turning down room service, plus forgotten trainers for swanky gym
.
I had my third dc at the end of Jan, and I ashamed to say it seems I have gained weight since she was born. Fed up about this as not happened this way round with the other two, but I was a more sprightly 31 back then. It seems six years + biscuits = big bum. But I am quite down about this though so need to do something about it. Where do I start?
I've just got as far as week 5 session 3 last week n stopped cos I have a stinking cold. Gutted that I'm gonna have to repeat week 4-5 again
I am running my final one for week 1 tonight. Just had to type that.
[Waves as new people]. Make yourselves comfy.
lucky, the best resource is here.
mellie, it's OK to run with a cold. You only need to rest if you have a fever. I've run with colds in the past and found that I actually feel much better for it
Just beware the free-flowing snot!
