I've just started using a cross trainer and I'm really unfit. What distance should I be aiming for? Can just about do 2 km without stopping, pathetic, I know... What's a respectable distance? I'm 35.

hi tonguetwister

I too am new to the cross trainer and for me it depends on which programme I use.

I started a programme which was high resistance and then low resistance one after the other and I was supposed to do 10 mins, I could never manage it.

So I have now changed it, I'm doing a straight resisitance (No. 5 if that makes sense) and I can easily do 10 mins.

I wouldn't worry too much about distance, concentrate on time and as the time gets easier, either increase your time or increase the resistance.

I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense, I am a newbie also smile
