BelfastBloke's Rolling Footie Thread 2013-14 Season

Pan · 17/08/2013 12:04

The rolling Football thread for Season '13-14 might as well start off in the traditional way with the same intro as did the original rolling Football thread all those seasons ago. But with the new tradition of leaving the musty changing room of Dadsnet...
We've been top heavy with premiership stuff but it's really for any footie played on the planet and beyond.

Footie fans please sign in with

1.Which team you support.
2.Which team(s) you loathe.
3.How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team.

  1. A thought on the season (Premiership/Championship/Champions? League/FA Cup/League Cup/all leagues world wide.)

I'll kick it off...

1.Which team you support - Manchester United
2.Which team(s) you loathe - loathe is a strong word, but Chelski gets nearest.
3.How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team - dd: "I hate football". There's still time.

  1. A thought on the season (Premiership/Championship/Champions? League/FA Cup/League Cup/all leagues world wide.). Really enticing prospect in the Premierships with the management merry-go round, and big hopes for Scottish footie in general....

Hello! I'm here and I support United. Slight concern re Moyes but looking forward to the season and seeing RVP pick up where he left off. Wayne who?!

Hate City/Liverpool obvs. DD isn't going to get a choice in the matter. Living in NI now and everyone seems to support united anyway round these parts.

Support: Glasgow Rangers
Loathe: no - one in particular, obviously there are teams that I don't mind seeing beaten, but overall I concentrate on supporting the Gers.
Kids: just not interested, prefer tennis Shock
Thoughts: Where to start, in our current position we can only hope the only way is up with maybe some boardroom stability which would make a change.

Usually love the start of the season - clean sheets, in all sorts of ways - hope springing eternal...or at least til October anyways.

Nothernexile - yes feeling a bit twitchy about Moyesy but the day had to come some time didn't it. Swansea not the easiest place to begin.

Hi!

I'm a spurs fan, I don't really hate any other teams but dislike teams who try to buy every player going and sell the soul of their team.

I trained my daughter from early on to respond with "yay!" Whenever anyone said spurs Grin Need to work on DS now...

No idea what's gonna happen this season. So many clubs seem destabilized by transfer talk, especially around Suarez, Rooney and bale.

Liverpool.
None. If you spend as much time hating other teams as loving your own you a pretty worthless excuse for a human being.
Don't have any.
Liverpool...after todays game top 6. Possible Champonions league.

Man United players are thrilled Ferguson has retired.
Now they can get home half an hour earlier.

I hear BT Live Games had technical problems today.
Unlike the Arsenal goal line technology, which seems to have worked perfectly on three separate occasions.....

Oh no - ?ere we go again - I?m still here - crying

The more things change the more they remain the same:

  1. I'm quite looking fwd to the first time Moyesy points to his watch in injury time.

2.Arsenal - what are you thinking Arsene? What exactly has changed since May 2013. There appears to be no Plan B or even amendments to Plan A available.

Moving on...with no sign of BB yet, Arsenal are fighting for credibility in Turkey, and Chelski have designs on top spot, Bale has ticket on easyjet booked and Rooney is still unsure about who loves him most....

2.Spurs!
3.Got him a season ticket!

  1. I wonder if this will be the season Arsene is sacked?

Pan · 21/08/2013 20:39

hi manky! A Tameside Blue?

IF Arsene is sacked, who of worth and ambition would like to replace him? The info is that the set up is to maintain an income for the Board, not actually win anything...

I've given up on Match of the Day. Gary Neville on Monday Night Football on Sky is much better quality.

Getting BT Sport HD for free through having BT Broadband is a good deal, but I haven't yet seen anything very special from BT Sport in terms of presentation.

  1. Which team you support - Arsenal
  2. Which team(s) you loathe - Like Pan, loathe is a strong word, but Chelski gets nearest.
  3. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team - They know they can stay up late if they express enthusiasm for Arsenal matches.
  4. A thought on the season (Premiership/Championship/Champions? League/FA Cup/League Cup/all leagues world wide.) - With the other three Top-4 teams all having changed their managers, and with Arsenal having real money to spend for the first time in years, judicious buying in the summer would have meant this season was an excellent chance to seriously challenge for the Premiership. But Arsene has already blown that. Too late now. Another dogfight for fourth in store. All so similar to previous seasons.

BB!
Hope you approve of the amendments? Dan was a bit quizzical?
Saw the ManU Swansea game on a free Sky offer on Sat. They tried with the TopGear stylee of having lots of blokes stood around whilst the stars spoke. It looked like a 200 pin bowling match.

Manchester United

Not too fond of City Wink

No problem on this score. They are footie/Man U MAS.

Man United will do well under Moyes. Top 6 place but too early to say if they'll retain the title. Liverpool and Arsenal will implode under Brendan Rogers (don't rate him) and Wenger (the team obviously want a change of manager).
