Whilst idly wandering around after our lunch I noticed one of the helper guys emptying a load of bins and in one of the recycling bags was a giant pom Bear packet!

If you were there, hello! Grin

Did you see any events or just Olympic park? We are going to Olympic park tomorrow, just wondered if there is any chance of getting empty seat tickets once you are there?

On Saturday they had space at the Copper Box and Riverside Arena where you could queue up and get in although they were soon announcing that both were full.

I thought those spaces were for day ticket holders, rather than park only? Happy to be wrong as the in laws are going on Sunday with park tickets.

We have session only tickets for Sunday afternoon at the Olympic park in the riverbank arena. Hoping we will be able to go into the park to have a wander around in the morning. Can you do that without a day pass?

Yes, if you have event tickets you can get there as soon as the park opens at 7.30am.

anyone else there today? we took 2 toddlers and a baby with just 2 adults (me and other toddler's mum!) and it was fab but knackering! especially as toddlers decided to tantrum pretty much continually for the first hour or so. but so glad we went!

I was there today - with DP, DD and DS. Lovely day - very tired now though. We had day passes and went to see goalball in the Copperbox, wheelchair tennis in Eton Manor and five-a-side football in the Riverside Arena. The kids' favourite part was meeting Wenlock and Mandeville in the Mascot House. DS is now a bit obsessed with Mandeville...!

I was there today. Althletics in the morning - thankfully sat in the shade - and then a wander round the park.
Currently flaked out on sofa !
No Pom bears but had a MacMuffin for breakfast along with 1000s of others. Blush

we were at athletics too Tuna - in block 245. we didn't see mascots as our toddlers were being atrocious as we went past mascot house!

We were in a lower block - 17 rows from the track !
Day worked out really well as back to school tomorrow - home by 7pm.

The long jump today was amazing. Blind athletes being guided to run and jump. Crowd had to be quiet do the competitors could hear guide.
My favourite moment an assistance dog coming onto track with his owner in wheelchair who seemed to be a photographer. He was by the javelin. The dog just lay quietly in the sun. Can't imagine my lab doing that she'd be chasing the javelins thinking it was great fun that people keep throwing sticks for her Grin

I know, we were also amazed by the long jump, it was very impressive! I found it funny watching a Mexican wave being shushed though, so the competitors could hear their guides, never seen a Mexican wave wilt like that :o

The seated shot putty was pretty incredible too, amazing upper body strength!

I was in block 243, and I saw a small child with a packet of Pom bears. I am going to try and make a Pom bear crisp packet brooch like suggested on another thread for identification.

dd (who is 6) tried to start one, she wasn't impressed it didn't catch on!

She thought it was the most exciting part of the morning, trouble was it always came round just as they were asking us to be quiet for the long jumpers!!
