We have been asked by the team at Barclays to find 15 MNers to come along for a couple of hours to the Barclays branch in Holborn central London to give it the MN once over.

They say "As part of our ongoing partnership with Mumsnet, we really want to put some of our products and services to the test, to make sure they're working for you. To kick this off, we're looking for Mumsnetters to test our Holborn branch (147 Holborn, London, EC1N 2NU). We knew Mumsnetters (and your kids!) would be the perfect people to give our branch the once over!"

We're looking for folks who:
~ Regularly visit bank branches/ a bank branch as part of their everyday banking - not necessarily in Holborn
~ Must be Barclays customers
~ Have at least one child (who can come with them on the day)

The event will be filmed by Barclays so we are especially looking for folks who are confident speaking on camera and can articulate their review clearly and with relevant examples from their lives.
Films will be used across Barclays social media channels.

The event will be at Barclays Bank, 147 Holborn, London and is by invitation only.
It will be held between 10am and 12noon and you'd need to be there the whole 2 hours.

As a token of thanks everyone who attends will be given a £50 John Lewis voucher. Attendees will be required to add their feedback on a thread on Mumsnet after the event. There will be a prize draw for a £250 John Lewis voucher for feedback.

If you're able and willing to attend please add your details here and we will be in touch with selected shortlisted MNers shortly.

Thanks
MNHQ

Shame it's not a week day - there must be loads of MNers working nearby - me for example! Can't trudge up there on Saturday too.

I will provide Barclays with some accurate & relevant feedback.

Commuters visiting branches in their home towns do not expect to find themselves queuing for over 10 mins on a weekday morning. Staff speaking rudely to grannies asking for a new chequebook doesn't go down too well either. This was my experience when I visited last week. The granny in question was my mum. Angry

Tempting if not for the being filmed part...

I don't have an issue with barclays and been with them for ages, but I didn't appreciate once being told to close my ISA and open one of theirs as I told them I wanted one I could transfer money in from old ISAs !!!!Shock

Use them for share trading. Best out there but not cheap for transactions

I don't bank with Barclays since the way they treated me when I was a student. I actually left the bank in tears after a discussion with a 'team member' telling me I was useless with cash. (Student loan hadn't come in.)

I have not banked with them since that day. I will not bank with them again either.

This does make me slightly question Barclays' understanding of 'family friendly'....I mean, I work in the City all week and would be happy to pop in any time, but I'm seriously not going to drag my dcs all the way into the City on the weekend (over an hour travel each way) to spend 2 hours of my limited family time in the Holborn branch!

I'm not sure I'd do it even if they were offering £500 JL vouchers

oooh this is our local branch - hope we get picked.

my kids usually amuse themselves by filling in the cheque forms with fictional amounts of cash involving more zeros that even roman albronovch probably has ;-o
