Speedo is looking for 15 Mumsnetters and their children to attend the 'Underwater World' VIP day in South Kensington on Tuesday 29th October.

Here's what Speedo have to say, "After new research revealed that 81% of kids wished they could go swimming more often and that a third would rather get a new badge for swimming than be able to ride a bike without stabilisers, Speedo wanted to celebrate this by hosting a unique Underwater World event for kids and parents."

The pool will be transformed into an underwater world experience for Mumsnetters and their children to explore. The day will also include a swimming lesson from an Olympic swimmer, which will cater to all swimming capabilities and a Q&A session with the Olympic swimmer to answer your queries on teaching your child to swim. But don't worry, there will be lots of free time for you and your DCs to have fun splashing about by yourselves and with other Mumsnetters as well.

The day will take place on Tuesday 29th October and will run as follows:
11:00 Arrive
11:15 Welcome performance
11:30 Swimming lesson and games
12:30 One on one Q&A with an Olympic swimmer – ask for expert tips and advice on how to teach your children to swim
13:00 Lunch
13:00-16:00 Free time in the pool

Everyone who attends the day will receive a goodie bag as a thank you.

Those of you who are selected to attend the day will be required to come back to a thread on MN to share your experiences and answer a few questions.

This event is open to all Mumsnetters with at least one child under the age of 16. We're also interested in knowing if anyone who applies has a blog and can blog about it (please tick the relevant box on the sign up form if so).

If you'd like to attend please sign up here.

Thanks and happy swimming,

MNHQ

Is there a minimum age?
My dc's would love this (and so would I!) but I have a 2, 4 and 5yr old so not sure about the practicalities of managing the day with them all?!?

Yes I'm a bit concerned about only having 1 pair of hands and a 1 and a 3 year old.

Fab idea. Please choose us. I have been making excuses about taking DS on my own despite him having done well on crash courses. Really nervous about taking him swimming my own mainly on the safety side. This would help SO much. Please pick us!

Wow, sounds absolutely amazing, although I prob need to be working that day. What a great opportunity!

Please choose us! Swimming related activities are something we can do together that really appeals to both a 16 and a 10 year old.

Just filled out form but think I wasn't appropriately enthusiastic about it in the comment box - what should be added is:

"wow wow wow DD would love this - it would make her half-term and probably give her the final push to really go for swimming seriously."

I hope no one is going to be taking pictures of me in my swimming costume! Sounds great though so I'll risk it.

YoniMatopoeia unfortunately there isn't room for partners to come along as well, but there's no limit of the number of children you can bring.
