We've been asked by Activision, the makers of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure, to find 60 Mumsnet families to go to a Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Nickelodeon Event day in London or Liverpool with their family. You'll have exclusive access to the event for a couple of hours before it opens to the public.

The Event will be going on all day, 9am-7pm but you can come and go as you please - the exclusive Mumsnet access session is 9-10.30am. Here are the dates:

Saturday 10th September in Liverpool - Williamson Square, Liverpool NOW CLOSED
Sunday 11th September in Liverpool - Williamson Square, Liverpool NOW CLOSED
Sunday 18th September in London - Westfield Stratford City (please note this is the new Westfield centre in East London)
PLEASE NOTE THEY ARE NOW UNABLE TO RUN THE SATURDAY PREVIEW SESSION - IF YOU APPLIED TO THIS WE HAVE EMAILED YOU

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure is designed for children aged 7-12 years but the event is a day out for the whole family (up to 6 people per family can attend, including children of all ages). Here's what will be happening:
· The Trial Turrets: The highlight of the tour, your child(ren) will be amongst the first in the world to play Skylanders Spyro's Adventure. There will be two Trial Turrets, each featuring six screens, with game trials going on all day.
· The Main Stage area: Nickelodeon presenter Matt Walker will lead proceedings, so expect stage shows packed full of cheekiness, laughs, slime and prizes galore! There will be a live 'Burp off', the chance to 'dress up your parents', quizzes and games, including: Jelly Fishing, Ball Pool relay, Hoola Hoops, Build a Krabby Patty relay and Air Guitar, where kids can dress up in wigs and costumes and play air guitar in front of the Sponge Bob and Patrick videos playing on the big screen.
· The Green Screen Activity Marquee: Take a little piece of the Skylands world home, with a souvenir photograph taken within the magical Skylands world.
· Whirlwind?s Tornado Tunnel: The game's element of 'Air' will be brought to life inside the dome-like tunnel. In teams of five, children will have the challenge of plucking a special prize ticket from the thousands of tickets blowing around inside, within a ten minute slot.
Click here for more information about the events.

The events will be filmed and photographed for promotion for other events. If you attend and are filmed/photographed, you'll be asked to sign release forms. The films and photos will feature on the Skylanders website and possibly elsewhere. Parking is available at both Liverpool and London venues but the cost of this isn't covered as part of the event and you'll need to bring your own refreshments if you plan to stay for the whole day.

Attendance is by invitation only - if you'd like to attend please sign up here and we'll be in touch with full details if you're selected.

If you're selected to go, you'll be asked to add your feedback from the day to a thread on Mumsnet - everyone who does so will be entered into a prize draw to win a Wii console.

Thanks and good luck
MNHQ

Oooh, off to Westfield!

My DCs are over the moon that we're going (London, 18th) even with the knowledge that we're going to have to be up and out and at the train station for 7.30am on a Sunday morning (haven't told DH that bit yet...) grin

MrPinkSoundsLikeMrPussy Fri 09-Sep-11 18:12:53

We are off to London on the 18th as well!! Where you travellling from Mumatron?

Bit of an early start but it sounds like a fun day out although we have 3 girls and the website only shows boys playing with skylanders hmm

mumatron Fri 09-Sep-11 18:27:55

All the way from cardiff mrpink

Dread to imagine what time we'll need to be on the train!

I'll have to get checking for times etc. Will be nice to finally meet some mnetters irl.

I am going too. Coming from Norwich and will need to leave the house at about 6 I think grin. Don't really want to reveal my mn name to DH though grin.

Fimbo Fri 09-Sep-11 18:58:54

Oh and I am Scottish. grin

I'm also down for the London Sunday. Trains aren't as early as a Saturday. Do we have to be there for the early bit or can we get there a little later?

Fimbo Fri 09-Sep-11 19:00:14

Oh and Ann thank you ever so much, I have had to reply to you via my phone, so I hope you get it. Perhaps you could let me know when you have time. Kids are so looking forward to it.

mumatron Fri 09-Sep-11 19:03:45

fimbo my dp can't make it so thankfully I don't have to reveal my nickname grin

grumpypants Fri 09-Sep-11 19:22:44

Darn. Had not thought of that. I may write it on my hand and you can peek when we do te secret handshake...

Kbear Fri 09-Sep-11 19:32:42

Me and the cubs will be there on Sunday!!! It's my DS's birthday too! 'citing!

MrPinkSoundsLikeMrPussy Fri 09-Sep-11 19:48:32

You have to do the early morning bit as it's part of the review I think?

We need to leave subtle hints so we can suss each others usernames without giving ourselves away, so when I ask Who's the birthday boy then? I will then know who kbear is smile

I'm on a name change, I'm normally Bohica.

I wonder how much the parking will be then <tight arse>

I have messaged Ann as we can't get there early enough on the Sunday (train timetable is rubbish).

Would anyone who got the Saturday be able to swap? If not, some lucky family will be going in our stead.

Kbear Fri 09-Sep-11 20:18:21

ah crap! earliest train leaving here at 7.57am, wouldn't get there until 12 ish.

would need to leave about 5 to drive there in time.

we were supposed to be staying in London next weekend anyway but plans changed.

mnhq will see what I can come up with tonight and if I can't sort something you'll have to pass the tickets onto another family sad

Kbear Fri 09-Sep-11 20:41:02

mumatron - premier inn? want me to find you a local one?

Kbear Fri 09-Sep-11 20:43:22

£69 - check it out! come for the weekend! www.premierinn.com/en/search.action

Kbear Fri 09-Sep-11 20:44:01

Well that didn't work but put in London Stratford.

mumatron Fri 09-Sep-11 20:58:02

i've just been looking at hotels kbear.

Dp isn't thrilled at the idea but it would be so much better than driving down.

I'm trying to get the monday off work too so we dont have to rush back on the sunday, but it's my first day back after maternity leave so I don't fancy my chances of them giving it to me grin

readinginsteadnow Fri 09-Sep-11 23:24:07

Think I'm coming on the Sunday, now that the Sat preview is cancelled. Only just replied to Ann's email. We have to leave home about 6.45am <gulp> but a very excited child here!!

ThePosieParker Sat 10-Sep-11 08:22:45

Ilikepink, I'm on for Sunday but the boys have Karate gradings....so we'd like Saturday.

MNHQ Can we swap?

ThePosieParker Sat 10-Sep-11 08:26:06
