You may remember a while back we ran an Easter-themed treasure hunt around the site with Cadbury. Due to popular demand we've decided to challenge Mumsnetters to a similar hunt, with a twist grin. This time we've hidden Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles around the site and we need you to find them.

The same rules apply as last time (see below) BUT we'd also love you to contribute to the MN version of Hansel and Gretel over the week. Here's how it'll work:

We've hidden seven Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles on various Talk boards around the site, you can see a full list of all talk topics here. Each day we'll post a clue on this thread which will direct you to a specific Talk topic.

Once you've figured it out head on over to the relevant talk board and you should see a Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebble, if you're correct make a note of the first letter of the talk topic - so if the clue takes you to Style and Beauty the letter you're after is S.

Collect all 7 letters, unscramble them and you'll be left with a word. Then you simply need to submit the word on the competition page (at the end of 7 days) and you'll be entered into the prize draw to win a £250 voucher of your choice.

What about Hansel and Gretel? I hear you say - well, never fear, all shall be explained grin.

Below is the first clue which also happens to be the start of our Hansel and Gretel themed fairytale.

Once you've found the Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebble, please do add a sentence each to expand upon the story. Each time we post a new clue, we'll change the direction of the story (based on the talk board the Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebble is hidden on). You don't have to include references to Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles but please feel free to shoehorn in include if you wish grin

One final note, you're more than welcome to help each other out but please don't post the answer on here once you've worked it out smile

Here are the clues:

Day one: Once upon a time, long, long ago a Wood Cutter and his wife had twins, a little boy and a little girl. However when the LOs were born, the wood cutter and his wife just couldn't seem to agree on a name for their PFBs...

Day two: Unfortunately soon after, the Wood Cutter's wife unexpectedly passed away. He was beyond devastated and decided the best option would be to move his family abroad and get away for a while. This was a huge decision and he wasn't sure where to go or what he needed. "Where could I find such information?" he wondered...

Day three: "Is that Katie Hopkins Price and Amanda Holden Redman?" he whispered. Gretel wasn't so sure but had heard on the grape vine slebs often hung out in the dark forest on a Saturday night. Gretal discretely took out her iPhone from her pocket and informed a popular parenting site of her latest sleb sighting....

Day four: "Someone needs to teach you some manners!" The Witch grumbled as she sat down on the sofa with her iPad, brew and cake. "Let's see if there's any tips for teaching manners on Mumsnet."...

Day five: Hansel and Gretel decided this was a bad idea, after all anyone could turn up, and instead suggested the Witch baked a 16 tier cake and decorated it with Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles.

However they weren't sure what quantities to use for such a large cake and need some more advice, so once again they turned to Mumsnet for help...

Day six:As it was the Wood Cutter's birthday, the children picked up a card on their way home "Deer Father, We hope you're birthday is everything you want it two be. Enjoy youre day. Lot's of luv Hansel and Gretel"

When the Wood Cutter saw the writing in the card, horrified he sent the children straight to corner.

Day seven:Inspired by the MN Style and Beauty threads the step mother decides to make amends with Hansel and Gretel. "Let's clear out some of your old clothes so we can buy you a nice new collection."

"What a great idea" Said Gretel, "although I'm not too sure how to use that selling website, where can I get some great advice?"

(Please don't post the answer on this thread)

Thanks and good luck,

They were somewhat perturbed to find all the Mumsnetters spoke harshly to them about manners, following the earlier thread the witch created.

captainmummy Fri 20-Sep-13 18:27:07

It was while she was watching her large 50" TV that she came across Jamie 'whack it all in luvvy jubly' that she had her idea! Sod the cake - cook the kids! She'd had the gin by this stage and was a a bit pebblish peckish.....

libbysugg15 Fri 20-Sep-13 19:01:30

However, it was then she remembered her oven was broken. She needed to make an urgent call to British gas or she wouldn't have a meal to satisfy herself and her warts...

nextphase Fri 20-Sep-13 20:06:52

Looking at the smart meter she'd been testing for them tho, she realised quite how much it would cost to run the oven long enough to roast them. Was she prepared to spend that much money on cooking the kids?

yegodsandlittlefishes Fri 20-Sep-13 20:07:59

or find a good recipe that wouldn't involve cooking them. She turned over a few ideas in her head of how to word her request on Mumsnet, which was making her hungry, so she ate a few more Cadbury's Dairy Milk Pebbles.

Finally (as in all good fairy tales) ding dong the wicked witch was dead (due to an unfortunate accident involving cakes and ovens) - at last Hansel and Gretel could return home to their DF.

As it was the Wood Cutter's birthday, the children picked up a card on their way home "Deer Father, We hope you're birthday is everything you want it two be. Enjoy youre day. Lot's of luv Hansel and Gretel"

When the Wood Cutter saw the writing in the card, horrified he sent the children straight to ____ corner.

Don't want to be a spoil sport, but I am pretty sure that I only have 7 clues, but your last clue said

finally....

steppemum Netherlands Sat 21-Sep-13 16:51:36

whoops, I mean DON'T have 7 clues, I have 6

have guessed the word though grin

RubyRR Sat 21-Sep-13 16:59:12

I didn't even notice that, if I was on countdown I'd lose my points for using my letter twice! Really enjoyed this thread though

captainmummy Sat 21-Sep-13 17:17:01

I've got the word too (I think) so is it ok to send the form in?

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Sat 21-Sep-13 18:18:39

Sorry we meant finally the wicked witch was dead not finally as in the end....do carry on the story....

missorinoco Sat 21-Sep-13 19:28:35

Somewhat insulted at their father's lac of excitement at their safe return, the children ate through the packet of Pebbles they had salvaged from the cottage as a birthday present for their father.

RubyRR Sat 21-Sep-13 19:43:12

A random person walking past was witness to this excessive chocolate consumption by minors, she pulled her judgey pants so high her vision was obscured and she walked straight into a tree.

dappledawn Sun 22-Sep-13 14:55:18

The children took a look at this person with the most unfashionably highly-pulled pants, and when she came round from the blow to her head, Hansel and Gretel kindly introduced her to the MN Style and Beauty threads, to help her become a bit less of a fashion disaster.

KatieBMumsnet (MNHQ) Sun 22-Sep-13 16:56:33

Inspired by the MN Style and Beauty threads the step mother decides to make amends with Hansel and Gretel. "Let's clear out some of your old clothes so we can buy you a nice new collection."

"What a great idea" Said Gretel, "although I'm not too sure how to use that selling website, where can I get some great advice?"

With a nice new wardrobe, all was forgiven between Hansel and Gretel and their wicked step mother and they all lived happily ever after...until...

DanglingChillis Sun 22-Sep-13 16:58:21

I have the six first letters but can't get a word out of them. I can see what a seven letter word might have been but not a six letter word? I've even tried an anagram algorithm and it can't work it out either. Hmmm.

DanglingChillis Sun 22-Sep-13 16:59:26

Ha, yes, now I have the seven letter word!

RubyRR Sun 22-Sep-13 18:31:42

The witches best friends next door neighbours dog walker bought the clothes for her own DC the witches mother who was narcissistic and used to take little witchy to stately homes demanded to know where the clothes were from as she plotted her revenge, she had never believed her evil daughters death was an accident

I think I have all the answers, but can't make a word blush. Is it really obvious?

I have it now & I feel daft blush

yegodsandlittlefishes Mon 23-Sep-13 10:39:27

I can't make a word. I was sure I found all the Pebbles, but can't spell make a word.

givemeaboost Mon 23-Sep-13 12:01:32

I can see what the obvious answer is but I have a spare letter hmm <<<<wonders if it just goes before the word...

The witch dealt with her Narcisstic mother by going NC.

As the atmosphere in the cottage had imp[roved so much she felt ready for a bit of a boost. She gave the bra gurus on mn her measurements and she was not really a 36A oh no! She was a 32FF! She could now she her witchy waist and was well chuffed very pleased with her new boobs. She vowed never to send Gretel to the forest branch of a well known chain of ladies clothing who can't fit bras for toffee! as that would be a worse fate than the oven...

Life was going swimmingly until out of the blue Witchy's narcissistic mother reappeared and said...

givemeaboost Mon 23-Sep-13 14:22:36

well, typed into an anagram maker and found 0 answers so guessing I am correct about the extra letter.

bit misleading though mnhq..........

AGnu Mon 23-Sep-13 14:53:58

It is just one word, 7 letters... Maybe go back & check there aren't any clues you might have misinterpreted?

Don't know why I'm trying to help... The fewer people that get it right, the higher my chances of winning! wink
