You may remember a while back we ran an Easter-themed treasure hunt around the site with Cadbury. Due to popular demand we've decided to challenge Mumsnetters to a similar hunt, with a twist grin. This time we've hidden Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles around the site and we need you to find them.

The same rules apply as last time (see below) BUT we'd also love you to contribute to the MN version of Hansel and Gretel over the week. Here's how it'll work:

We've hidden seven Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles on various Talk boards around the site, you can see a full list of all talk topics here. Each day we'll post a clue on this thread which will direct you to a specific Talk topic.

Once you've figured it out head on over to the relevant talk board and you should see a Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebble, if you're correct make a note of the first letter of the talk topic - so if the clue takes you to Style and Beauty the letter you're after is S.

Collect all 7 letters, unscramble them and you'll be left with a word. Then you simply need to submit the word on the competition page (at the end of 7 days) and you'll be entered into the prize draw to win a £250 voucher of your choice.

What about Hansel and Gretel? I hear you say - well, never fear, all shall be explained grin.

Below is the first clue which also happens to be the start of our Hansel and Gretel themed fairytale.

Once you've found the Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebble, please do add a sentence each to expand upon the story. Each time we post a new clue, we'll change the direction of the story (based on the talk board the Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebble is hidden on). You don't have to include references to Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles but please feel free to shoehorn in include if you wish grin

One final note, you're more than welcome to help each other out but please don't post the answer on here once you've worked it out smile

Here are the clues:

Day one: Once upon a time, long, long ago a Wood Cutter and his wife had twins, a little boy and a little girl. However when the LOs were born, the wood cutter and his wife just couldn't seem to agree on a name for their PFBs...

Day two: Unfortunately soon after, the Wood Cutter's wife unexpectedly passed away. He was beyond devastated and decided the best option would be to move his family abroad and get away for a while. This was a huge decision and he wasn't sure where to go or what he needed. "Where could I find such information?" he wondered...

Day three: "Is that Katie Hopkins Price and Amanda Holden Redman?" he whispered. Gretel wasn't so sure but had heard on the grape vine slebs often hung out in the dark forest on a Saturday night. Gretal discretely took out her iPhone from her pocket and informed a popular parenting site of her latest sleb sighting....

Day four: "Someone needs to teach you some manners!" The Witch grumbled as she sat down on the sofa with her iPad, brew and cake. "Let's see if there's any tips for teaching manners on Mumsnet."...

Day five: Hansel and Gretel decided this was a bad idea, after all anyone could turn up, and instead suggested the Witch baked a 16 tier cake and decorated it with Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles.

However they weren't sure what quantities to use for such a large cake and need some more advice, so once again they turned to Mumsnet for help...

Day six:As it was the Wood Cutter's birthday, the children picked up a card on their way home "Deer Father, We hope you're birthday is everything you want it two be. Enjoy youre day. Lot's of luv Hansel and Gretel"

When the Wood Cutter saw the writing in the card, horrified he sent the children straight to corner.

Day seven:Inspired by the MN Style and Beauty threads the step mother decides to make amends with Hansel and Gretel. "Let's clear out some of your old clothes so we can buy you a nice new collection."

"What a great idea" Said Gretel, "although I'm not too sure how to use that selling website, where can I get some great advice?"

Thanks and good luck,

But he decided to share the truly hideous ones online, for us all to snigger at.

Caitycat Tue 17-Sep-13 17:59:24

sadly whilst joining in some rightmove based sniggering he realised that one of the houses being singled out for derision was his own. It seems hand cut wooden panelled walls and ceilings aren't to everyone's taste.

RubyRR Tue 17-Sep-13 18:05:57

The woodcutter decided not to read the facts and experiences about moving abroad, instead he would write a wish list of his perfect house, 1 sex bear, 2 futility room 3 a panic room in case of zombie attack,

BlackeyedSusan Tue 17-Sep-13 23:48:45

... a cupboard for his ofrs and a larder to store his cadbury pebbles as he needed a good supply to catapult at the zombies.

captainmummy Wed 18-Sep-13 12:55:06

Where's the 3rd clue?

yegodsandlittlefishes Wed 18-Sep-13 13:04:24

The woodcutter had yet to decide which country to move to. Should he go to Singapore? Would America be a good destination for 2013? Or maybe he should become a correspondent for a newspaper and travel about a bit with little Hansel and Gretel, and show them the world.

dappledawn Wed 18-Sep-13 13:59:08

(Yes, third clue please! grin )

'With the sex bear and the ofrs (??) claiming almost all his attention, as well as all the demands of the international move, it became clear that the poor little twins were in grave danger of being sorely neglected, especially as all he ever fed them was Cadbury Pebbles!'

watchingout Wed 18-Sep-13 17:12:03

However it was a tasty alternative to Pom Bears ...

KatieBMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 18-Sep-13 17:13:09

Eventually the Wood Cutter decided he didn't need all of those extra rooms and the family relocated to a quiet farm in the south of France.

After a few years of enjoying a secluded life with his DCs, the Wood Cutter ventured into the online dating world local pub. Here he met a fair maiden and, in a whirlwind romance, they were wed the following month. The Wood Cutter was deeply in love with his new wife as she was with him. However Hansel and Gretel were a burden to their Step Mother and one day she decided to lead them deep into a dark forest with the hope they'd never find their way back.

Hansel and Gretel knew what their DSM was doing though, and luckily had a pack of Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles with them. Hansel suggested leaving a trail of Pebbles behind so they could find their way home. After a few minutes, Hansel spotted someone who looked kind of familiar...

"Is that Katie Hopkins Price and Amanda Holden Redman?" he whispered. Gretel wasn't so sure but had heard on the grape vine slebs often hung out in the dark forest on a Saturday night. Gretal discretely took out her iPhone from her pocket and informed a popular parenting site of her latest sleb sighting....

dappledawn Wed 18-Sep-13 17:30:33

'....then, as she got a bit closer, she realised (to her horror) that their non-stop, giggly chatty gossiping was actually evolving into a spine-chilling, eerie cackling; their pretty faces started to sag, their pert noses protruded rapidly until they met their jutting chins, and - before her very eyes - sprouted hairy green warts.....'

captainmummy Wed 18-Sep-13 18:10:33

And told them all how to get there - just follow the pebbles! <hopeful that they hadn't all been eaten by the crows>

yegodsandlittlefishes Wed 18-Sep-13 19:17:09

Hansel wanted to get a better look and leaned over, pushing Gretel over, she managed to get her balance buy only by stepping out from the bushes they were hiding behind and into the clearing where the celebrities were, but they were too busy arguing to notice..

'Give up Katie' said Amanda 'You're never going to get the part of an ugly sister, no on would tell your stage part from your screen presence!'

'What do you mean? I have the face of a saint!'

'Yes! A Saint Bernard!'

(With apologies to Matthew Kelly!)

RubyRR Wed 18-Sep-13 23:02:45

Amanda carried on "you'll never love your kids as much as Peter Andre does!" Katie's mouth dropped to the floor and a pebble inadvertently rolled in choking her, as she gasped for breath she struggled with her last words "I need a spray tan"

missorinoco Thu 19-Sep-13 09:55:48

Hansel was fairly sure his pebbles would be safe with the pair, who were invariably on a low carb diet.

dappledawn Thu 19-Sep-13 16:31:30

Suddenly, there was a deafening noise:something huge, shapeless and primaeval came crashing through the undergrowth towards Hansel and Gretel; its female partner was pelting it with Cadbury's pebbles as it - (yes it was Ozzy Osbourne!) - howled:

'Oi Sharon - where's the next f ***g clue then?'

KatieBMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 19-Sep-13 17:35:27

Hansel and Gretel ran as fast as they could until they suddenly noticed a cottage in a small clearing between the trees. As they got closer they realised the cottage was covered in their favourite treat; Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles!

Hansel and Gretel ran straight up to the cottage without a thought for their safety and started to eat the outside walls when suddenly a wicked witch appeared in the doorway.
"Don't you know it's rude to take something that's not yours without asking first you horrible horrible children?!" and with a flick of her wrist Hansel and Gretel found themselves tied up in a cage in the cottage.

"Someone needs to teach you some manners!" The Witch grumbled as she sat down on the sofa with her iPad, brew and cake. "Let's see if there's any tips for teaching manners on Mumsnet."...

captainmummy Thu 19-Sep-13 17:43:21

She started an AIBU and had 990 posts telling her what a witch she was and she should let them go so they eat some more

dappledawn Thu 19-Sep-13 17:54:56

But while posting, she inadvertently outed herself as a witch - moreover, one who had also just kidnapped and encaged two helpless children - and (not unexpectedly) she began to be flamed from every direction by millions of righteously outraged MNetters - Not a situation she was prepared to tolerate! angry.....so....

captainmummy Thu 19-Sep-13 19:05:43

Mumsnet withdrew the thread because everyone reported it, assuming it was a troll!!

yegodsandlittlefishes Thu 19-Sep-13 20:22:42

She was so outraged, she took out her spite by popping bags and bags of Cadbury's Pebbles so that they showered and ricocheted around her until the whole cottage was carpeted in a thick layer of them.

missorinoco Thu 19-Sep-13 20:39:54

The AIBU thread reached 1007, despite maxing at 1000, as the children, realising she was on it, posted via their smartphone, in order to distract her whilst they plotted an escape plan.

RubyRR Thu 19-Sep-13 22:31:29

Following the completion of the thread 100s of MNers all posted on different boards, each having their very own thread to ask what happened. MNHQ sat throwing pebbles with force at the big delete button to clear the threads about threads.

AGnu Fri 20-Sep-13 16:04:24

The witch, now a little calmer, stared in horror at the pebbles liberally strewn around her cottage. "What can I do with all these pebbles?" She wondered to herself. "I know, I'll use them to create a handy area of block pavving for local people to arrange to meet by..."

wink

KatieBMumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 20-Sep-13 17:29:47

Hansel and Gretel decided this was a bad idea, after all anyone could turn up, and instead suggested the Witch baked a 16 tier cake and decorated it with Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles.

However they weren't sure what quantities to use for such a large cake and need some more advice, so once again they turned to Mumsnet for help...

RubyRR Fri 20-Sep-13 18:14:32

The witch was overwhelemd by helpful replies although puzzled over why she was asked the size of her tv to determine her cooking ability instead she threw the pebbles into her cauldron with naice ham and gin and hoped she could work her magic.
