hi,new to this board but was hoping someone might know the answer

my son who is 13yrs old has been diagnosed as in the "grey area" concerning behaviouir adhd,he goes to a regular school but is classed by the school as special educational needs, hes had a caff and seems to be doing ok

somebody has said i should apply for extra money for him (im assuming some sought of benefit) i get standard tax credit and child benefi for him at the moment

yes i would say he does cost more than my other teenager as in terms of breakages, more activities etc to keep him occuppied.is it possible that there may be some financial help even though the pediatrician wont say either way but the school have him under special educational needs.

any information would be very helpful

suspect they are referring to DLA. It is not means tested and assessed according to additional needs compared to peers but not easy to come by.
