Hi anyone else in this boat and got amount to school meals?

DS home ed and entitled to school meals. I have asked for finical equiv and they (LA) said no.

I get no extra for heating, light, Health and safety loo rolls, cleaning materials, tea/coffe etc

to top it off I dont get CTF bonus because I dont claim free school meals for ds (not allowed to claim and would never get a cf/gf/sf meal for him at school anyhow!)

At the first school, my DD would get the equivelent of £2.00. This wasn't enough - a sandwich would be £3.00, and then she had some people laughing at her for having free school meals.
Not sure the amount in other schools though. In the second school, it was £3.00, and the third (and last, hopefully!) it was £2.00. Hope that helps!

im presuming your on benefit then pipinjo ( im carer for my disabled husband and home tutored my DS for a while too you wont get anything for two reasons firstly they asume rightly or wrongly that you do have a choice to send DS to school where he will get if applicable free school meals and secondly you will be getting money already for food from whatever benefits ect your recieving, another example of this is my sons autistic so on DLA but if he has to spend any time in hospital this money is cut as would other benefits ...HTH
