Request for statutory assessment for SEN parents views

Hi. My DS, 6 has dyspraxia/aspergers. His school are putting together an application for assessment of SEN. Does anyone have any advice as to what is really essential to get across in the parents views bit where it asks 'how do you think a statutory assessment will help your child? All advice gratefully received.
