Schools that do well with SEN children in St Albans area

I am in the process of looking for a new school with DS, one that will help him blossom into the young man I know he can be, and wants to be.
We don't have a diagnosis yet, could be aspergers, could be Auditory processing disorder.
He is going to be devastated about moving schools (and as we only arrived in september) I need to get it right.
Can anyone give me any insight into Special needs provision at schools around st albans - who does it well?
