Hello
I am starting the secondary dreaded school search for my son who has Aspergers and I would love to hear if anyone of you would have any suggestion.
We live in Barnes and he is in year 4 at Sheen Mount primary with a 20 hours LSA support statement. His NC levels are fine but I feel a big state school won't fit.
I have visited Christ's,Halliford school and Canburry.Any feed back or suggestion is greatly welcome.

Hello ineedmoretea, are you friends with ineedstrongcoffee by any chance? grin

I know nothing about Barnes unfortunately, but I'd try posting on the SN children's board as this one it rather quiet.

My DS with ASD is in year 7 with 20 hour statement. I found that visiting each potential school SENCo with a list of questions on how they could support my DS soon ruled out many schools, leaving me with a choice of 2. If your DS is at all academic, check how they can support the higher sets. Ask about lunchtime and breaktime support, as these can be vulnerable times. Bus journeys have been 'interesting.'

There's an ongoing thread on this board from last year which may give you some pointers, transition to secondary, let's flap about it together.
