Hi there, do you have any recommendations on Ipad apps for my slightly cognitively delayed ds he will be 3 in july
. Ones to aid understanding together with his speech would be great!! Thanks

Injini. Expensive but fantastic. Try the free one first to see how you get on. Cbeebies do an app now too, but I think the Injini is vastly superior as it's specifically designed for children with a cognitive delay.

you may want to have a look at this http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cris-rowan/10-reasons-why-handheld-devices-should-be-banned_b_4899218.html

DS7 and DD9 were on the iPad and/or iPhone an hour a day on average until our behavioural optometrist explained that their vision was being seriously compromised. No judgment at all to those who carry on but we were able to totally wean our two and very happy we did.

Nutty with respect iPads can be very valuable for children with delays and sometimes the only thing they respond to

yes autumnsmum, that's why I said "no judgement". Each of us walks our own path. I only wish I had understood the risk for our particular children when they were younger. Nice to understand all perspectives.
