Right, getting my finger out.

As per the last time we talked about this I am up for organising the next south west meet up, i think we were gonna try one more east than the last Exeter one for this time..

i have a free venue in swindon, accessible from the M4 with free parking, not in town centre, so farther from train station, but can arrange pick up / lift from station.

are most people on half term 16th onwards? do you want that week? or wait till they are back at school? would have enough room for kids there too...

which day is best? (I can't do Weds unless it is Wed 20th Feb)

Do you want lunch? (I am happy to do a big pot of veggie chilli and rice)

OMG Thay sounds wonderful <wonders if can drag kids there from London>

NoHaudinMaWheest Fri 08-Feb-13 20:19:11

Sounds great. I wouldn't bring my two so wouldn't matter if it was halfterm or not as Dh have to take time off anyway. Can't do Tuesdays but any other time fine.

TaggieCampbellBlack Fri 08-Feb-13 20:19:12

I'm in. As long as i'm not working. DD probably won't come.

coff33pot Fri 08-Feb-13 20:29:02

oooh I think that is a weee bit too far to expect ds to last on the train that length of time tbh x I will make it to the next one smile

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname Fri 08-Feb-13 20:33:40

I might have to take a sicky! Mine are on half term from today, but it would be easier if they are at school. Mon, Tues or Fri would be best.

JJWMummy Fri 08-Feb-13 20:36:05

Me Me Me!!

Wednesday 20th would be fab, but other wednesdays are quite busy with appts. Tuesday am also out for me. Other than that all good.

Where's the venue by the way? Intrigued Swindoner!!

signandsmile Fri 08-Feb-13 20:41:14

ooooo, responses, grin grin ps JJW it's Gateway Church (based at bible Society building West Swindon, about 1 min from Kids About if that helps) grin

JJWMummy Fri 08-Feb-13 20:45:59

Ah yep, know that one! About 10 mins from home smile

can also help with lifts if needed.

zzzzz Fri 08-Feb-13 20:49:41

grin wooooohooooo!

inappropriatelyemployed Fri 08-Feb-13 21:01:37

I'd like to go!

PolterGoose Fri 08-Feb-13 22:57:03

Yes, am looking forward to another meet up grin

I can't do Wednesdays until after Easter (ds doing Alert programme) I usually work Mondays and Tuesdays but could take time off, would prefer a Thursday or Friday...

hazeyjane Sat 09-Feb-13 06:24:36

Me too, me too!!!!

<just a little over excited, I'll go away to calm down and come back later>

hazeyjane Sat 09-Feb-13 07:41:34

Ok, back again. I would love to come, I would have ds - would that be ok? The only date I definitely can't do is Feb 27th.

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname Sat 09-Feb-13 19:12:03

I can't really do Wed or Thurs, as I do reading to the dog, (don't ask) so can't really miss those days as both DC and man with dog would be inconvenienced. I work each day, but Mon, Tues or Fri would be easier to miss.

PolterGoose Sat 09-Feb-13 19:58:18

EllenJane reading to the dog confused hmm grin

Looking like a Friday might suit everyone who has expressed a preference?

zzzzz Sat 09-Feb-13 20:14:32

Oh lord I'd forgotten it was half term. How big is the hall sign? (Multiple outlandish plans circling in rather befuddled head).

Crawling Sat 09-Feb-13 20:21:42

Wish I could come its too far for me though.

TaggieCampbellBlack Sat 09-Feb-13 20:23:16

We're on half term this week.

PolterGoose Sat 09-Feb-13 20:25:08

Should we look at after the half terms?

zzzzz Sat 09-Feb-13 20:44:47

I think go with the majority because its going to get crazy trying to fit everyone in.

signandsmile Sat 09-Feb-13 21:19:42

Right.... it seems like a friday is best option... is friday the 22nd an option for most people?

I will check out what bookings there are at the church, but usually quiet daytimes week days, so we could hopefully have the big main room, which has room for leaping/running/spinning/flapping etc grin there should also be a smaller room free for 'chill out' space as well, and one of the kitchens, (either the small one just for tea / coffee or the big one and I will do chilli and rice and salad for anyone who wants..

so I guess the question is;
who can come on that day? how about if we said 11 - 2?
who would need collection from the station?
who wants lunch?

I will check and provisionally book on Tuesday when the admin lady is back in..

oooo, now very excited!. (esp as ds is school does half day fridays, so he can come and see you all for a 'visit' ... he may not last too long, as he is knackered by then) grin

TaggieCampbellBlack Sat 09-Feb-13 21:27:47

Think I'm working that night but can fit ina nap afterwards.

I'm in!!!

eeek don't do new people or socialisin and what should I wear and stuff

PolterGoose Sat 09-Feb-13 21:39:29

Excellent, very excited grin

As soon as you've confirmed I'll get dp to take afternoon off work so I don't have to rush home. Ds will be at school so can help out if others have an entourage <looks at zzzzz>

Taggie the beauty of an MNSN meet up is that all that superficial stuff doesn't matter.

zzzzz Sat 09-Feb-13 21:41:17

Well obviously we are all massively glam! grin

First meet up my feet were swollen like baloons and the washing machine had been broken for a week. I'd like to blame my outfit on that but truth is I live in crocs, fleece and jeans, and the only other outfit I own is my "funeral" stuff.

hazeyjane Sat 09-Feb-13 21:43:53

I usually wear a feather boa and false eyelashes, but I'll try and dress down.

PolterGoose Sat 09-Feb-13 21:50:41

Please don't dress down for us hazeyjane wink

How much would a taxi be from the station?

signandsmile Sat 09-Feb-13 22:10:51

he he... am loving idea of feather boa... grin, as ZZZ and polter said we were very low key, (I hadn't had a hair cut for about 8 months, looked like one of those plump thelwell ponies with the fring over their eyes, grin

Taxi would probably be about £7, (i think), but don't bother with that.. one of us can come and pick you up. (its less than 10 min drive to the station)
(and I am dying to meet, but a bit in awe of, the famous star blush)

LOL If I come I will have 3 kids and no car seat!!!!! So, a)would that be okay ?and b)I don't expect anyone would actually meet me, just watch me from afar running in circles......

zzzzz Sat 09-Feb-13 22:26:03

star I may have all 5......I need to work this out.

JJWMummy Sat 09-Feb-13 22:35:22

22nd is good for me. Will have DD1 (2yrs) with me.

Can do lifts for 2 adults if needed, also have highback booster seat if needed.

Would have to run at 1pm as DS2 also does half day on Friday and finishes at ten past one.

Which school is your ds at smile? pm obviously! :-) There's quite a few locally that finish early round here, though i'd never come across it till i moved here.

PolterGoose Sat 09-Feb-13 22:52:23

zzzzz I won't have ds so will happily do whatever I can to make it easier for you.

zzzzz Sat 09-Feb-13 23:02:36

Thanks polt if I bring them they will be fine, if a little gobsmacked that I exist outside house/tesco/school. grin. They are very portable really, when they were younger I used to cart them round all over the place.

I want hazey to wear her glad rags. sign I haven't bee to a hairdresser for 2 years and am not intending to again. grin. No one seems to have noticed.

TaggieCampbellBlack Sun 10-Feb-13 07:35:50

I too haven't had my haircut for 2 years and have been known to wear crocs. I see a theme developong. Except for hazey....

NoHaudinMaWheest Sun 10-Feb-13 13:24:17

Should be able to do that. I know that my 2 will not want to come - unsociable things that they are. DH was talking about visiting his mum who lives near Swindon so I will persuade him that this is the perfect opportunity and -- I don't have to see her--.

Hazey I would of course do the feather boa but I'm allergic to feathers don't you know!

NoHaudinMaWheest Sun 10-Feb-13 13:27:28

Sorry Sign haven't answered your questions
I am coming by train so a lift would be nice but can do taxi if need be.
Lunch would be nice if you are doing it.

inappropriatelyemployed Sun 10-Feb-13 13:42:55

Can't do 22nd as we have a DS birthday on our hands!

Have a good time!

PolterGoose Sun 10-Feb-13 13:46:12

NoHaudin I can pick you up from the usual station and drop you back there if you'd like, it will save on your train fare and I gain a navigator grin

TaggieCampbellBlack Sun 10-Feb-13 13:48:24

Shall i make cake?

NoHaudinMaWheest Sun 10-Feb-13 20:45:31

Polter that would be great thanks. I'll pm you about times when I know.

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname Sun 10-Feb-13 20:52:40

I can do 22nd! So excited!!! Will have to be mysteriously ill for work, but I haven't had a day off sick in 4 years. I'm very glam, wink after having lost 4 stone since dickhead left. Have car with spare booster seat, for station pick-ups.

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname Sun 10-Feb-13 20:54:11

Can we just bring sandwiches if it's easier for you?

signandsmile Sun 10-Feb-13 21:34:33

wow it's really gonna happen! huge pot of chilli and rice is not a problem (slow cooker rules in our house grin) I will read back through the thread and summarise who is coming and how,

yes pls to cake. taggie.

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname Sun 10-Feb-13 21:41:18

signandsmile Tue 12-Feb-13 15:33:29

Anyone else wanna come?

redhappy Tue 12-Feb-13 17:44:28

Ooh I might come if that's ok? I need to look at train times first though

signandsmile Tue 12-Feb-13 18:13:03

more than welcome red grin

blueShark Wed 13-Feb-13 20:26:54

Oh no I missed this... Has 22nd been set, it's the only day I can't do next week as have a meeting at 1 can be there by 3 if anyone still around?

PolterGoose Wed 13-Feb-13 22:53:41

signandsmile something strange has happened to the thread you started confirming arrangements confused

It may just be me, but it isn't showing on the board but does show when I do advanced search, and I've also checked I haven't accidentally hidden it hmm

Can anyone else see it?

hazeyjane Wed 13-Feb-13 22:58:29

How odd, I haven't seen another thread?!

PolterGoose Wed 13-Feb-13 23:17:10

It is invisible < wooooooooo >

hazeyjane Wed 13-Feb-13 23:18:51

Hmm, curiouser and curiouser....

<narrows eyes>
