breakthrough in signing so happy

finally my son has startedto click on makton signing , we been trying for 18months now and seemed getting nowhere hes 3 1/2with gdd but no speech but yesterdy i signed drink and he signed it back then later signed back more and eat, ok they were clumsy but were there then later on in day without prompting he signed drink was so happy i bust into tears which really confused him.but what I want to say apart from yelling hes doing it from rooftops is that even when we thnk there not going do something they still suprise us

That's brilliant. How did you do it? Have you just being signing each thing to him for 18 months then literally he just did it back to you?

yeah been pretty much signing everything and anything but was when we was sat down working on it and i have to say we have watched fair amount of mr tumble

have you got the mr tumble dvds i can not praise them high enough

and ty Moondog though was never going get anyway but so glad not give up and top it of hes doing , train ,car dog and rabbit
like lights suddleny gone on

Aww that is so lovely.WELL DONE to you both.It is wonderful when the signing starts,because it gives hope that there will be communicationDD is 3 and has a few signs and everytime a new one comes it is such a big achievement!Big hugs to your ds

Hi Phoenix, I've got the singing hands DVD but might invest in some Mr Tumble too. DD2 only ever glances at the TV though, but hopefully over time I can get her to take it all in. Thanks.

eh mr tumble lot more fun than singing hands DS would never sit watch that for more than 2 mins, hmm e4 is on cbeebies as well so worth maybe recording few annd watch together#

Yes I'll definately try this. DD2 only 18 months and delayed at that but I'll see if we can both sit down and hopefully she'll pick some signs up. Thank you xx
