If she has a pre existing medical condition, you will need to disclose it on the application form. However if nothing is officially diagnosed, you can say 'no known diagnosis' although if there is a diagnostic process ongoing, you should mention this. It's best to mention everything you can think of in advance. Is it likely that she could need more expensive treatment of any kind?

columbus travel insurance has a helpline for those seeking insurance with pre-existing medical conditions

www.columbusdirect.com/Travel-Insurance/Pre-existing-medical-Insurance.cfm

might be worth seeing what sort of quote they offer?

If there is no objective or known reason why she would need any more treatment (if anything happened on holiday) than any other 12 month old then it should be okay. But with insurance contracts, it's best to mention everything in advance. You could put somewhere on the form that tests for mobility/posture problems are ongoing.

trace - we use Chapman Hurst tel 0870 750 6711.

The staff are pretty good and will chat to you about your child's problems and then make a case to the underwriters for cover. dd is a little unstable at the moment healthwise and waiting for more tests and these were the only people who would cover (for an affordable sum )

We've had dd in Spanish hospitals (near to Barcelona and in Majorca) and they've been fine. I haven't experience of Greece though.

It was only about £70 extra on top of the usual policy (£60ish). That's for 4 of us for 2 weeks. The only other company that would cover wanted an extra £400!
