SN children

Does anyone know about SN provision in Herts/Beds?

We are thinking about moving in the next year or so and I am trying to do some research on provision for SN.
We are thinking about the top end of Hertfordshire, maybe just into Bedfordshire and I was wanting to know if there was any difference in the two counties with regard to provision for statemented children with ASD/aspergers.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Perhaps contacting a support group in north herts or beds could give you the knowledge you seek. Angels (Stevenage area) 01438-781356 or Hope (perhaps too far west) 01442 390642 might be worth contacting. It is good you have a statement already!!

Thank you both very much for your comments, I will have a look into it all.
Yes, we do have a statement which has really good provision, my worry is if we move, then they will reasses and he will not be given anything like the hours he has at the moment.

IMHO The Sn Budget for 'advantaged' home counties is very poor, this affects sen provision within the county - since SEN is not directly related to wealth (or lack of). Such counties first ration statements, then the provision within them.
But you have a statement with generous provision so the situation is far better. My understanding is that the statement moves with the child and there is a legal duty to provide whats on it. You possibly need to chat to someone who has moved from a generous lea to an underfunded one for advise re statement annual review once moved. Good luck!
