Fish Oils-yet again! Are you still using them and if so, which ones? Do you think they do any good?

DS5 (aged 8 and with AS) has not taken them for months, largely because he starts refusing them after a while.
But I feel guilty and think maybe I should have another go! It is so hard to find one that he will take though. So, which ones do you use and why?

I use the EyQ strawberry capsules for DS1 (undx dyspraxia) We've certainly seen a big improvement in his concentration and focus this year - who knows if it's had an effect?

DS2 (ASD) is a bit more complicated. We've tried all sorts of fish oils but they seem to make him hyper and increase stimming. Cod liver oil (Nordic Naturals) is the one that seems to suit him best.

use EyeQ liquid for dd1 - now they finally have it here in Aus - put a teaspoon in her yoghurt. Think it definitely helps.

Have recently heard about Nordic Naturals - ultra dha or something like that.

I used to use EyeQ in various forms but DS decided he did not like it.
What about Eskimo Oil-I remember it has been recommended in the past? Looking at the info, the kids version seems to include omega 6 oils, which I did not think were generally needed in a supplement as the diet contains eough anyway. Iwas thinking of tryomg him with the adult version-eskimo3; does anyone use this to good effect?

we use Efalex with ds and I definitely think he is able to concentrate better on them than off. We use the capsules as he hates the fluid and is fine about swallowing tablets. They're expensive though so we wait until Boots are doing a 3 for 2 offer and get them then.

Have used Eskimo oil and Nordic and now we are trying St Clements cod liver oil. they are all supposed to be safe for mercury levels. ST Clements is the cheapest - that's why we are trying at the mo. They all seem ok for my Ds they seemed to improve concentration levels btu I cant be sure.

We are using plant based ones as Ds is allergic to fish and eggs, so not only do they help as he is deficient otherwise from his diet but I'm hoping they help the AS too - either way we are using vertese capules at the moment

we use either nordic naturals or , if i am waiting for a delivery DS2 occasionally has Eye-Q same as his brother.
I don't have any of the others as i think the flavours cause DS2 as many problems as the fish oild aliviate.

Veg EPA £10 for 60 capsules not any good if LOs can't swallow tablets seem to do Ds1 good.
