Just got back. DD is the not very happy owner of 5 stainless steel teeth. It all went well but she is phlegmy and miserable as sin.
Not eaten or drank anything yet.

Ooh, sam had one of thsoe- he used to call them his robot tooth. When it came out in a block of fudge (ideal healthy snack school gavce a dairy allergic kid....) the teacher refused to give it to him and he is still officially Most Miffed LOL!

Glad she's OK. Poor mite.

After it was done the dental surgeon and dd's own paed came round so I said 'what if she needs an MRI brain scan again?'
Lots of shuffling feet and 'oh, didn't think of that!'

me neither. Lucky I mentioned it or if she had one all her teeth would have shot out and stuck to the magnet thingy

NMC can I ask why they replaced her baby teeth with stainless steel ones? Couldn't she just have had gaps??? Sorry if I'm being stupid

Forgot to add, I am glad she is ok

Hi Mitchell. Its always better to keep the teeth as they are involved in jaw development and guide in the adult teeth.
So they just capped the decayed molars (5) and sealed the 3 remiaing. Means she keeps her teeth and her jaw forms correctly.
The NHS does stainless steel caps for baby teeth as porcelain ones are expensive.
