by the end of this week i will have used 224 hours of direct payments just for this month we get 72 hours per month between my three but with steve being in hospital i have had to use lots of hours including one overnight for all three. i have spoken to SW who says he will talk to his manager when he returns from his holidays, i am having a bit of a panic as we still have 3 weeks of school holidays left and DH will be starting radiotherapy & chemo soon so will need more cover.
anyone had an overspend

No, but when I asked SS if I could use my dp's in a certain way they offered to up them. (the manager rang me straight back)

When does the manager get back? - Can you ring the SW in the meantime and ask what you should do. If they can't authorise dp's then can you ask them to provide a direct service for your children (my thinking being that faced with that request which they won't be able to provide they'll up your dp's)

SW says he cant up the hours without his managers say so, he said they maybe able to increase payments for a couple of months we already get some respite with the short breaks team, which is daytime respite care, the family who have DS had all three for me last thursday but they both work full time. the family that the girls have are on holiday until after the bank holiday weekend, she is a teacher at a SN school.
