Footplate for bike

Have just bought a tagalong trike for my DS2 (4). He is so little he can't reach the pedals yet, but we really want to use it as he loved going round the garden on it! He has CP so needs something to rest his feet on. Just wondered if anybody knew of any footplates that we could attach to the frame of the bike.
Cheers Nat.

We bought ds1 a Puky trike, which had a footplate on it (he has spina bifida, and it took a long time for him to realise he could do things with his legs/ feet!). I don't know if you can buy the footplate separately, maybe worth a look on the web somewhere, but the trike itself is brilliant.

Nat1H - are you in S London by any chance? there is a cycle hire co called London Recumbents based in Dulwich Park - cycling evangelists and really nice people. They adapted DS's trike when he was little (short leg issues), and said they do quite a few adaptations for children with special needs. Also DS's NHS physio service said they can advise on bike and trike issues if we ever need them.

Ask in a local bike shop ( a real one rather than halfords if possible) about local frame builders who may be able to design and make the right thing for you.
