...this Friday (yikes). Thanks mostly to Mabs and 2shoes who reassured me over a lovely lunch in Brighton not too long ago (would love to do that again soon). And lots of you on here who replied on my thread a few months ago.

I am prepared that it might not show us anything or it could be very revealing, either way it's another step forward isn't it? Just wish he didn't have to have the GA. The best bit is that we go on holiday at the end of the following week and it will all be over and we can relax a bit.

How long does it take on average? We have been told between 30 - 90 mins. They are doing bloods too whilst he is under.

Thanks fiofio. It's the waking up bit I dread, DS1 had an op last Oct and it took him ages to come round. I was so relieved his op was over but then he was in recovery for ages, in the end they let me in, he was so spaced out and dribbley, he had had a dose of morphine though so I guess that made it worse. Atleast DS4 won't be in pain when he wakes up, just a bit sleepy I guess.

Do you know where we will have to wait, do we stay on the ward or near the MRI room?

Was the puking up a nerve thing or soemthing else?

I have asked DH to take him in to be aneathetised as I don't think I could handle it.

Phew - we did it . He was good as gold, poor DH was upset seeing him aneathetised ( I hid.)but it went really well. Quick recovery, no unpleasant effects from the GA and apart from waiting 2 hours for him to produce a urine sample ( what did they expect he hadn't had a drink for 5 hours!!)it was absolutely fine.

Now we wait for results, due to see neuro on 22/8, but before that we can enjoy our holiday.

Thanks again for all your input, it really helped us out.
