sigh

i drove from surrey to oxfrod yesterday to take him for a consultaion about hwthewr or not he needs surgery on his legs, and if he needed anything more specialised

(depending on what he needs it can be done locally or in oxford)

but after checking him over they now want him to go to a gait assessment clinic (also in oxford) to try and work out what kind of improvement it will make, BUT he has to be able to walk

he cant walk, not even with a frame, which was the point of assessing him for surgery, so we are in catch 22

they said they still want to see him there and will find a way of getting him upright to do it, but can i just pull my hair out please?! all in all i was driving for 4.5 hrs yesterday, for a 140 round trip, due to being stuck on the bloody m40/m25 in rush hour , for an appointment that told me bugger all

i have to see his consultant at the local hospital tomorrow and have no news

not sure how long i will have to wait for this bloody assessment clininc now

sorry that the appointment today was a bit pointless, pita that you have to trek down again for yet another clinic before anyone makes any other decision.

that sucks Lou. is there anyway to time it so that you don't have to take all 4 if you do end up traipsing back to Oxford?

I mean if you can try and twist their arms to give you a particular appointment time.

well i said that when i was there

the first appointment they sent me was for 11.30, which was ok, but it was cancelled and rearranged for yesterday at 3.30, and because i thought it was such an important appointment, i didnt want to cancel it myself

but i did ask for a more reasonable time to be given to me next time

god knows what i will do if he does have surgery in oxford, i cant really rent a place to stay being broke

would there be any chance they would have any family accommodation at the hospital for this sort of scenario, or am I being overly hopeful

assuming it's the JR, "There is be accommodation for parents to stay overnight, either next to their child?s bed or in a dedicated parent/carers accommodation suite."

[hmmm]
