"So does he speak then"? - sort of a SN AIBU

Which wouldn't have been such a bad question if 1)it hadn't come from the child psychologist doing the Hanen (speech course). (she sees DS for 5 minutes a week when videoing us interacting)
and 2)if I hadn't explained what DS problems were to her only last week.

I mostly carry on plodding along and repeat, repeat, repeating until DS "gets" new words phrases, being pleased at all the little improvements But then I get little wake up calls about just how behind he is. And feel like shite.

BTW I am grateful that I am doing a Hanen course, and have any chance to get DS and a child psych in proximity, given that he's not due to be seen until next Jan.

Ta Dino. You'ld think a psychologist would be able to address these matters tactfully.....

Hi,
Have you heard of - or seen the Family Support Blue Box? Inside, there is a fabulous book, where parents can fill in different pages, as well as professionals too. The best bit, is a page which is headed 'things you should know, that we do not want to have to keep repeating' (or something like that) and you just give the book, open at that page, to everyone new that you meet. It just provides a brief outline of the most important info, so that you don't have to keep starting from scratch each time. Think you can order it from www.familysupport.
Hope that helps.
