I was about to email you fio. You are a star. We have just opened it, ds1 has just got back from school and he loves it (REALLY loves it). He was even beginning to get the idea of click and drag (which I have been trying to teach for ages)- with prompts- through the shape game. It is going to be made into a PECS card tonight so he can request it........And I suspect it will be done daily!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

He loves it- in fact I would say you have started a new obsession. He's just asked for another go. Even got some speech out of him (bye bye postman pat). Now if I can get him playing it independently........... IN fact if I could computer train him before the summer holidays I won't need SS at all anyway

Jimjams, I've been looking through our outgrown CD-Roms, and there are quite a few that might be worth trying for your ds, but unfortunately the majority are PC only. One of them (a Pingu one that's really good) I lent to a friend with a mac and she got it to work by running the mac in PC emulation mode . Is there any chance that might be possible for you? I've got about 8 possibilities if it is and only 2 if not. Let me know!

I haven't got a PC emulator We have Pingu already though (a mac/pc version) thank you ever so much though- everyone is being very kind! Once ds1 can use a computer independently we will get him a cheapo PC. Dh will be overjoyed as then he can buy chess software (he's not AS honest!)

Must dash someone is standing next to me shouting "postman pat" (well "ahum an ahum an". He's too twitchy to hold the damm mouse though he' so over-excited!

Jimjams - I've just got hold of a Spot's Busy Day CD Rom, suitable for ages 2-6, it is suitable for a mac. If you think your ds's would like it, drop me your address via contact a talker. If not, no worries (I work for the publisher so can just slip it back on the shelf!).

You're a Mac woman! Whoo hoo!

I'm not sure what's appropriate for your eldest but my sons love
Boowa and Kwaala . Great games and other stuff on there. Go to the "Boowa and Kwaala" balloon. We also have a Curious George CD, but it's at home and we won't be back there until mid August. Please remind me!

If you let me know what kind of games your son likes, I'll keep a look out. (I like games for myself )

Actually jimjams, I've just made a few pathetic attempts to tidy the playroom and found a Blue's Clues CD-Rom that is mac-compatible. It looks like it might be quite suitable- lots of surprises when you click and stuff, not too much language and what there is is quite repetitive. Any good d'you think?
