DS biting at nursery :(

My DS is 3 and has asd. He has just started a new nursery and has been loving it - he bursts out of the car in the morning he's so excited. He keeps himself to himself but is very easy going and doesn't cause any problems at nursery in any way.

However, he has bitten his keyworker three times in the last two weeks. I could cry when I pick him up and see the 'accident report' paperwork sitting on the table for me to sign. I worry that he will start being seen as a 'problem child' and DH keeps saying he will be 'thrown out'. He never bites at home and is such a gorgeous little boy, I'm really worried for him... Sad

Hi Laura, I know of kids who were "biters" at nursery without ASD so don't panic - it is very early days. I would try to get to the bottom of why he is biting (maybe ask nursery to do ABC, antecedent behaviour consequence charts for these events) so you can address that with nursery. Good luck!
