Besides here of course.

I spent a week in hospital before I hsd ds4 as he was an unstable lie. His heart rate was monitored everyday, two or three times. Most days it was racing. I asked for a CS every day because I felt something wasn't right but I was reassured each time that he was fine.

In my notes it says that he was often tachycardic and a couple of comments such as 'suspicious trace', 'refer to Mr **'have got me thinking more about what was going on in my last week of pg with ds4.

DS4 has GDD and hypotonia. My instinct is that he was in trouble in that last week before he was delivered by CS.

Any thoughts, advice, boots up the backside and get real type comments would be most appreciated.

Yes - my HV is excellent. I'm off to get DS now but will call her later. Had a quick look at PALS website, will investigate that further too.
Thanks FF

I know a few people who had "traumatic" births have been back to the hospital to talk it through with the consultant and midwife and they've gone through the notes with them and given them a blow-by-blow explanation of what happened when and why every decision was taken.

But that's been useful mostly for mums who didn't get the "lovely" birth they were expecting; helps them to see if there was some medical necessity behind the path that was taken. If you are seriously looking at the possibility of negligence, then I don't know if they would be as keen to sit down and explain it to you. Though that in itself would tell you something....

there's a charity- aims- association for improvement in maternity services or somesuch, they'd be able to help you i am sure I know they have a website.

Your last week sounds much like mine, I was in and out with high BP and whilst i was in labour DS1's heart rate stopped, but tehy'd lost my bloods and so Consultant refused to attend . He's disanbled, with AS. he also ahd IUGR and lost about a pound in utero- it took me until I was PG with ds2 to get a formal dx of eclampsia with ds1!!!!

get your answers honey, I know from experience it really helps X
