Well peadatrician has said today thats shes going to diagnose my son with Asd, i spoke to the school mentor and she asked me how i was feeling about it and i said i dont feel any different, i feel like i should be jumping for joy, but i dont feel like that, y sons still the same, we still have the same problems, where do we go from diagnoses point?

Give your self some processing time Shaz this has been hanging around for a long time iirc!

You are right of course your son is still your son but the Asd diagnosis should help in the long term to point everyone in the right direction to the kind of support that he might need.

Good luck 💐

Also got an asd diagnosis for my dd last week. I kind of feel a bit numb as well. The diagnosis wasn't a surprise, but I wasn't expecting to feel quite the sense of anti-climax that I am currently feeling.

As you say, my dd is still the same person and nothing seems to have changed.
