I have an appeal to go to regarding my 3 yr old's mobility request, as part of his DLA.

I intend to just bring him with me, ask them to go for a "walk" with us outside and he can "show" them what he is made of.

Anybody here been to an appeal for the mobility component and any advice for me?

I have a ton of papers and judgements to go through which they "kindly" sent me stating in so many words, how hard they are going to fight this. yet, i can name 3 other children same age as my own who have the mobility component and got it due to behavioural aspects of their autism.

does anyone know if they backdate the mobility component if they determine the child was in need of it, when they turned the appropriate age or when the application was first made?

thanks

I have been refused it too because of DS2's age they said he will probably get it when he is 5. Have you tried Cerebra, I have got their booklet on claiming DLA, not sure if that would help with an appeal. Some helpful person did tell me to get DS2 a lead, but if I had handy had one I would probably have wrapped it around their neck for being so stupid lol.
