RANT ALERT: Why are the summer holidays soooo long...

Dd1 has been asking for school and kindy every day since she broke up and it is doing my head in. Dd2 is getting annoyed at dd1 being in her face as dd1 is usually at kindy and school for at least 3 days a week, and then we have therapy and swimming to also break up our time. We have no kindy for 6 weeks, no school for 7 weeks BUT thank goodness speech therapy starting again next week.

I am sooo tired and hormonal and hot and grumpy.

I am tired of breaking up fights, tired of trying to entertain little ones and just plain tired.

Only 3 weeks to go and kindy starts again!!!!

No idea about school ( sn kindy) as they stuffed up her class times and have given me the two days she is at mainstream kindy and the afternoon after she has two lots of therapy - salt and physio and swimming - not a good choice there.

So - rant over - just feeling sorry for myself.

Sorry to hear its been tough going Eidsvold. At least you have the Ashes to comfort you and !! Don't you have any play schemes etc available? I assume not or you'd be using them. Is it a disadvantage to have your long hols with Xmas in the middle and everyone wanting to be away? Lucky for us DS's longest hol is 3 weeks in the UK summer and we just about manage to get through that with a patch work of schemes, other help, help with DD etc. Xmas has been harder as our help has been away, minimal playschemes and other helper sick, ugh! Hope your rant made you feel better!

feeling a bit better today - just been so tired and so sniping at the dds and turning into some ranting rabid mother - exactly what they and I don't need.

Things are starting to pick up - some hospital appts and some therapy starting again with a couple of birthday parties thrown in - so hopefully it will be a better end to the holidays.

Don't know of any playschemes - I could put her in holiday care but that is often full of little ones whose parents work full time - hard to get a part time position iyswim. There must be some form of respite - guess I need to look into that HOWEVER come next year she is so busy that being at home will be like respite.....

Ahhh the ashes - the less said the better huh
