Hi,
Has anyone successfully got SIT from an OT put into an ehcp?

My LA told me that the nhs won't commission it so it can't be in his plan.

They have verbally agreed to gives his pupil premium money to us to use as a personal budget to get private therapy, but they haven't put this in writing.

They wont put it in the personal budget section of the plan, because it's not an NHS service.
Even tough it was an NHS OT who recommended it in the first place.

So I wondered if there was any precident of anyone else getting this therapy into an ehcp.

Thanks

Hi kojack

We are on the waiting list for sensory reintegration therapy with an NHS OT, its been a long hall around paed, CAMHS and audiology but CAMHS are funding it after a meeting recently

We have just been issued with a draft EHCP and are waiting to have a meeting with all professionals but in my experience as a health professional our paed is sabotaging this being written into our plan also

Sensory reintegration and CBT are the only treatments for our DD's condition and all research recommends them yet our paed continues to assert that she cant write it into the plan even though audiology and CAMHS recommend both

It will be interesting to see if either of us can achieve this, good luck

@kojackscat
@Schrodingersmum

Hope you don't mind me waking this thread up , but did either of you get anywhere with getting SI therapy included in EHCP?

@pence you would be better starting your own thread as this thread is 8 years old, but yes SIOT can be included in EHCPs.
