Advice re: Food for party

I work for my local council. Next week we are hosting a ceremony to open a new play area. This will be attended by children from a local primary school, many of whom have adhd and other behavioural problems.
We are providing a buffet and the school has suggested that we should offer water, fresh orange juice, crisps and mince pies. (I think the idea behind the mince pies is that it'll be a sugar fix for the adults but the kids probably won't go for them!)
I'd be really pleased for any comments or alternative suggestions.

How about some fruit - grapes or raisins usually go down well.

Thanks, amynnixmum - anyone else?

I did traffic light kebabs for my ds last year to take to his xmas party. I used grapes, cherry toms and a small lump of cheese and put them on cocktail sticks. The kids loved them apparently. Also cocktail sausages are usually popular and ds (who reacts to sugar and colours in food) seems fine with these.

fruit kebabs are great - food on sticks is loved by most children.

I would not stress too mucha nd go along with their suggestions.

Yes - we were definitely going for plain crisps, water and fresh orange juice. It's a mainstream primary school so I'm assuming that if they've suggested that and we also provide little boxes of raisins then that will be fine. It's going to be from about 1pm till 3pm so the children will have had lunch already. The fruit kebabs are a nice idea but I'm a bit worried they might stab each other!
