Parayhouse School and Bansham Manor

I was wondering if anyone in this had experience of either Paryhouse School and Bensham Manor - both, I understand, focussed on MLD. We are considering both for our child.
Many thanks

Don't know anything about Bensham Manor. But I've heard from a SALT that Paryhouse is a very good school. I was considering it for DS, but as DS is only 5 ( they take children from 7+) and as he doesn't have learning difficulties, I thought it would be unsuitable for him.

I think Bensham is quite a large school catering for a range of learning difficulties, isn't it? Whereas I think Parayhouse is smaller and more specialist. It depends really what your child's difficulties are.

Thank you Icimoi. Do you have direct experience of that school? My son's underlying condition is MLD.

Sorry, no, I don't have direct experience. Have a look at Ruth Birnbaum's book "Choosing a School for a child with special needs" - www.amazon.co.uk/Choosing-School-Child-Special-Needs/dp/1843109875?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 - for information about what to look out for and what to ask about.
