My ds has a dx of Asperger's he is 9 in year 4 he is in a mainstream primary on school action plus. He has sensory issues and ADHD has been mentioned in my hearing. He struggles to learn due to anxiety, poor focus and poor fine motor skills. I have been looking at different schools for him and have been offered a place at a private specialised school. Starting on June 1st if we want it, I had thought September start. Really don't know what to do?

Take it. If he is struggling in his current school then you have got nothing to lose by moving him as soon as you can.

This was us a year ago with DS1, then in year 5.

Go for it. That half term proved to be a really useful settling in period for DS1, as it's a less pressured time of year and was easier for him to integrate gradually.

It also didn't give him time to get over anxious about starting. He hit the summer holidays with a happy half term behind him.

Thank you couldn't find this thread yesterday. Discussed it with him this morning he wants to stay at 'his school' until the of July. Routine is very important to him also apparently looking forward to sports day and end of year concert.
I feel really bad he has friends that he's been with since he was 2. However there's also a group of boys in his class that bully him and make his life misery!
I love my man when I said the specialist school had said he could go there he was really pleased then asked 'what disease do I have?' He had seen their paperwork for dyslexia, dyspraxia, high functioning autism or speech and language issues. When I told him autism he said 'is that why I talk so much?' Out of the mouths of babes!
