Will post more tomorrow .... but quickly for now, (she was very nice btw) but she said at one point that dd can't have a dx of sensory processing disorder - no one can as the dx criteria doesn't exist. So I'm sorry to break it to you all but our dc can have sensory issues but they can't/don't have SPD. Hmm

So ... care co-ordinator is going to do some work with dd regarding her anxiety. She's going to see dd over a few weeks without dh and I present, to get to know her, then work with her needs. I'm happy for this as she seems lovely, but I feel the emphasis is always on seeing children by themselves, without parents. I can understand why this may be best, but it's not always, yet they talk like it's the only way. She's writing to GP for a referral to separate OT and physio who will deal with hypermobility issues. She'll work with dd to find her sensory needs, but is adamant there can be no such dx as SPD! Hmm It's early days in the next part of the system but I'm hoping she can get things moving for school to be able to help more and get dd the extra support she should have.

I wish these professionals would make up their mind about what diagnoses are to be used or not! One for daughter says Aspergers doesn't exist as a diagnosis now, one for hubby says it does!

Glad you are getting some help and support for her, as that's a battle in itself, even if it's not the format you hoped for.

It's just ridiculous how it varies all over the country. We were told when dd was dx with asd in January that aspergers is no longer a dx. Being told there's no possible such dx as SPD. Yet so many of our dc have an SPD dx! Confused
