After two weeks of madly modeling head nodding, saying 'DS2, do you want ___? YES!' and doing the Makaton sign (God knows what I must look like in public - like some sort of deranged nodding dog I should think) he finally did it all by himself. We were at an adventure park and I noticed he was looking at the carousel, so I said 'DS2, do you want roundabout?' and he said 'Yes'.

That's brilliant news!

You must be so proud of him.

Well done, DS2.

really pleased for you.

my friend uses makaton with her child and its helped him alot.he cant talk, just makes noises but he can sign a few things.

more than anyone else, your child will learn the most from you.you are his world and if he sees you repeating it over and over again he will eventually copy when you least expect it.

sending virtual hugs over to you both
