SN children

what (if anything) could be the issue with Dd?

Dd1 has severe asd and ld.

I always assumed Dd2 is NT but the niggles get bigger and she gets more and more difficult to handle. she is 3.5

  • speech and language is advanced
  • seems to be very bright, hit all milestones very early
  • brilliant pretend and imaginary play (nothing reanacted like Dd1)
  • good eater & sleeper
  • no special interests
  • very social, really good with other kids
  • no issues as nursery (just s but stubborn at times)

But
  • sensory issues - cannot stand certain clothes, tactile defensiv, cannot stabd anything wet (drops on clothes, kisses etc)
  • will only eat from certain plates, with certain forks etc
  • extremely stubborn - impossible to get her to do things she doesn't want to do (e.g. putting a certain shirt on)
  • tantrums (not meltdowns) if she does not get her way (every day, they last up to 30-40 mins - today we had 3).
  • violent rages if she does not get her way : throwing little pieces of furniture (kids chairs), smashing up crockery; biting

She startef kicking of on a daily basis and it seems to be getting worse.

Do typical children do this as well? Bit at a loss. We use Aba for Dd1 and it works for her but Dd2 seems to be 'unshapable' iyswim.

Agree with PolterGoose, I personally think every NT person has traits of autism. Like my aunt likes to take the same route every single day or my friend not realising that the person she's chatting too is bored as she talks far too much.

But nothing of what you put down about your DD does not sound odd at all.

She does sound fine. Is she quite bright? How does she compare to her peers ?

I don't think it is Asd at all.

polter - winning battles on logic - oh yes, that is the only way with her right now
.
hercules - I do think she is very bright. Certainly ahead of friends' DC. Nursery say it as well. Not in the sense of G&T but bright.

I am mostly concerned about her unshapability. And the violence of her rages.
