DD shouted MOM this morning from her room i am so happy and excited i never thought she'd say it as all she seems to say is DAD DAD DAD and hello.

That's great FD! That must have just made your day/week/month!!

DS1 said daddy long before he said my name, I used to get very miserable thinking that he would never call me mummy - then he started calling me "munny" - well, it was a start anyway!

You must be so pleased, FD.

I used to find it a bit annoying when ds1 only said "daddy" and not "mummy" - especially when I was the one who looked after him all day. However, I quickly discovered the benefits. In the middle of the night when a little voice shouted "Daddy!" I could say "I think he wants YOU." I still suspect that this was why dh was so keen to coach ds1 at saying "Mummy"!
