For buttons Obviously he's not meant to use PECS - he was trying it on. He hasn't quite got it sussed yet though as he exchanged with ds1 (who ignored him)

ds2 did the same. It's a shame because its so cute, but you have to stop them doing it because it's messing with ds1's communicaiton system (mind you ds3 is stroppy so I may end up having to give him his own book to keep him off ds1's).

wow

Jj - dd2 is a prolific signer - she is 22 months old now. SHe is also talking in phrases and people are amazed - the fact she is repeating phrases we have drummed into dd1 trying to get dd1 to talk in phrases has nothing to do with it.

But it is funny watching dd2 trying to do everything dd1 one does.

DS1 does this too (not quite as clever I know as he is 5!) He also sneakily swaps round the cards on DS2's visual timetable so that, as if by magic, 'DS1's turn for TV' appears at the top. And tonight he asked me if he could have his own sensory programme (a la BIBIC).

DS2 was at the school nursery for the first time last week - it's right next door to DS1's class. Apparently he marched up to the fence that divides the two outside areas and said to DS2's 1:1
"Oh that's good, you're using his PECS book. Did you know he likes jumping? It's good he's paying you attention because normally he only pays attention to me". !!!
1:1 said she felt as if the OFSTED inpectors were in!

Sorry JJ - went off point of your thread but it just reminded me.... sneaks off embarrassed.

Fio - dd2 has to have her own chair when we go to speech therapy and she participates and asks for things as dd1 is expected to
