sendist - what happens if you lodge an appeal in august?

I know the tribunal themselves don't sit though you would think this year they will be to try and clear as many cases as possible in sept.

but what about the sendist admin staff - they must work surely? do they continue to lodge the appeals in august or make them wait until sept which then would cause a huge bottle neck im guessing later in the year.

if I get a NIL it will come at the end of august so want to lodge the appeal before sept but will there be any point? im trying to avoid all this new stuff about needing a certificate regarding mediation as can see that's going to cause so many delays as LAs probably will be slow to put it into place.

when our hearing was adjourned the panel were trying to secure a new date with my indies and the LA and the judge said they do hear a few hearings throughout August. Also our working doc has to be submitted to SENDIST by the middle of August and the tribunal bundle needs to be sent out just after so the admin side of things must continue.

I don't know about eg lodging appeals during August but most certainly the admin staff (and judges and panels) continue to work during August.

Two years ago, during my appeal against refusal to assess, admin staff, various judges and registers were certainly working on my case.

Last year, whilst I was awaiting the results of my appeal against parts 2, 3 and 4, again, all admin staff and the precise judge working on my case were certainly working throughout August. My LA was even "working" (I was the term loosely when talking about them) throughout the last 2 Augusts on my DS

Nice this year that they're not doing anything on my DS'a case this year although his paperwork for AR is overdue and, I hope, will be worked on by the LA during August

i wonder then if its just that they don't as a rule list hearings in august as I guess it would be difficult with the schools being closed - I think that if I end up in this position will lodge it anyway and see what happens. I know my LA continue to work as ive battled then 2 years out of 3 over the summer holidays

The Tribunal would be very happy to hear appeals during August, however the LAs, in particular, have many staffs who are on term time only contracts and so would not be available. School staffs would not be available either.
Whilst the Tribunal may not sit the admin staff at Darlington are still working as are the LA staffs. The exemption in the current CoP for Aug working applies to school based staff, not LA staff.
